Elected officials have a responsibility to lead and to fix problems. And Texans help each other out in a crisis.
Nobody wants to see your Senator peace out to Cancun when his neighbors and constituents are desperate for help.
That’s not too much to expect.

The majority of Congress doesn't grandstand. They just show up and vote however they do, enjoy the gravy train and keep quiet, other than when they go home to their constituents and campaign for re-election.
