re: Who here is a Democrat

I previously was a Democrat, but now I'd identify as a Never Trumper.
I think that the economy would be better under Biden. Above all else markets hate uncertainty, and there's no telling what kind of senile delusional shite Trump could pull with a second term and without enough handlers.
The American economy has actually fared better than just about all other OCED countries since COVID. How people think that Donald Trump will just magically come in and wave his hands like a Jedi and magically make everything go back to 2019 prices is just ditzy and retarded and Easter Bunny-like. Prices aren't going backwards. Ten Allen Greenspans could be president and prices still aren't going back to where they were.
People are looking for a political savior. Unfortunately they do not exist. I prefer self-determination over hoping that a new president will make my life all better.

I'm sure there are Cultist who think that, but I don't think that's most people's expectation.
I think most people just want a president who isn't actively working against the economy, which Biden is. From his refusal to issue drilling permits and licenses to his rolling back out the excessive regulatory landscape that Obama rolled out to his releasing of money into the general supply.
For example, are you aware that in the past 2+ years the money supply has increased by 41%?
That kind of fiscal policy is guaranteed to cause or exacerbate inflation.
Pretty much everything he does is like that.
It's like dropping your cell phone. No one wants that to happen, and with COVID the cell phone got dropped regardless of who is in the WH.
But instead of picking it up, brushing it off, and putting it back in his pocket, Biden stomped on it, kicked it down the block, and then pissed on it.
I think most people just want someone who won't do that.

So was Trump!
Trump's political party affiliation has changed numerous times. He registered as a Republican in Manhattan in 1987, switched to the Reform Party in 1999, the Democratic Party in 2001, and back to the Republican Party in 2009.

You would be more accurate if you identified as a lying, drooling moron.
Biden and the Democrats are gdamned fascists.
You don't get to "self-determine" under fascist rule, you fking idiot.

This has already been said....in 2016....and it was proven wrong then too.

Mr. Obama asserted that “some of those jobs of the past are just not going to come back.” “When somebody says . . . that he’s going to bring all these jobs back, well, how exactly are you going to do that? What are you going to do?,” Mr. Obama asked. “There’s no answer to it. . . . What magic wand do you have?”

Yes, absolutely! I haven't been around here long, but noticed that pretty quickly!

Is this why we ABSOLUTELY MUST get behind Trump?

How about the developer, or the HOA?

You can point out a couple of similarities but that doesn't make your take correct. There are way more differences such as legal vs. illegal, need vs no need, institution of welfare/healthcare, etc.
There are tons of things we did in the past. Does that mean we should do them now?
Then there is the question of where do we stop allowing immigration. Is it when 2/3 of all poor are allowed to be on the taxpayer safety net?

I have long considered myself to be a democrat, but not sure where I am now. I know this, I can’t stand Trump, and while I have and will vote for republicans, I’ll never vote for Trump. My thoughts for anyone that cares:
I support military spending but think it’s very, very wasteful and can lead to the tail wagging the dog. Need scrutiny by an effective congress.
I oppose intervention except when sanctioned by a larger group (enough going alone).
I support Ukraine.
I don’t support Palestine or Israel. Too complicated.
I don’t support abortion but am vehemently against making it illegal.
Citizens united was bullshite.
Support gay rights.
Skeptical of trans identity, at least the way it is now.
Universities are important but need more ideological diversity and spend too much money on activities that don’t affect instruction or research.
I want the border secured, but think we also need scientifically managed immigration for low skilled work. Also, immigration is a dominant factor in driving up housing costs, particularly for the low income.
No interest in importing religious fundamentalists, including hijabi Muslims. Folks at the southern border need to be vetted.
Unions can be good, but can also affect employment when trading with low wage countries and there are no tariffs. Tariffs can be good in some sectors, but not for basic goods and necessities. Public unions are stupid.
Strong separation of Church and state.
Environmental problems and climate change are real and can be solved. Avoid targeting food and food delivery.
More support for science and reliance on evidence based approaches.

Me. Been registered as a democrat 50+ years. Last democrat I voted for nationally was Bill Clinton. And I don't think poor Joe is physically or mentally capable. He's done.
It's a damn shame our country can't come up with decent candidates.

Ditto on pretty much all that. That was pretty epic!

These are seriously the kinds of posts that don't allow this board to live up to its full potential. Just reads like mindless middle school-like jibberish that does nothing to advance the conversation. It's deflating.
