Sounds like a couple of hangars for their jets and maybe a dorm building on an existing U.S. base. It isn't as if the Qataris are going to take over the U.S.

You'd be better off looking at patterns than trying to create reality from bullcrap.

US has been have joint training with foreign armies on US soil for many many years. This is nothing new. Have to host them somewhere.

What the hell is going on, why are we planting a military asset for them in the middle of US soil?
I didn't vote for this, this is anti-american
you really thought that jumbo jet was just a gift???

Because they own him, that's why

Nobody ever really thought it was a gift.
But there are plenty of posters here who parrot the “presidential library” talking points and whatever other goofy nonsense they have to tell themselves.

Did you read the article? They're coming here for training on the jets that they buy from us. Its not that uncommon for the US to host personnel from foreign squadrons for training.
The facility being built is on an existing base and I assume its just a small facility to house the Qatari personnel in their own separate buildings away from USAF personnel.

I served over 20 years in the army as an air traffic controller…. I remember hundreds of foreign pilots being trained in my time. Now, I’m not sure if we’re talking about the same thing in Idaho…. The headline reads “hosts.”

Pre-2017 Discussions and notifications: under Obama, there were notifications to Congress about potential sales, including of F-15QAs — up to ~72 jets and associated support.
June 2017 Qatar signs a Letter of Offer & Acceptance for 36 F-15QA jets (~US$12B) with the U.S. DoD.
Late 2017 The U.S. State Department approves a roughly US$1.1B contract for support services, infrastructure, maintenance etc., for the F-15QA program (ground facilities, force protection, cybersecurity, etc.).
2018-2022 Delivery of aircraft; continuing construction of support infrastructure; use of U.S. training / support for Qatari pilots; incremental build-out of capabilities. (Exact public milestones aren’t always fully reported.)
Before 2025 The proposal or idea of hosting or building training / facility arrangements in the U.S. (at Mountain Home, Idaho) was floated, or envisioned, because the U.S. already had training agreements with Qatar and similar arrangements (e.g. Singapore training at Mountain Home). Mountain Home has existing infrastructure for F-15s.
October 2025 The latest public announcement: On October 10, 2025, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced a letter of acceptance has been signed for Qatar to build a facility at Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho. This facility will host a contingent of Qatari F-15s and pilots to allow combined training, interoperability, etc.
It is not a sovereign base but a facility on an existing base under full American control from what I can see.

It's normal for other country's pilots to come to the US and train. That is what the base is for.

What hav we done so far that is America first?
Posted on 10/10/25 at 1:19 pm to Frdom
Please do not assume they are given a free base to do what they want. Media sensationalism is alive and well.

Did you really think that airplane was "free"??. Lol

do you have any links to this happening in the past on US soil, and giving the foreign entity a base?
Been happening since I’ve been in and still happening to this day. There have been several countries operate on my base alone, keep in mind they aren’t given free roam and are restricted to access many spaces. We even have some Brits and Aussies that take permanent orders to our commands for years at a time. South Koreans, Japanese, German, and India have all had a permanent presence at NAS Jax while I’ve been here

When I was at Rucker we had Israelis, Saudis, a bunch of countries.

Lol this idea started under the Biden Administration but carry on.
