Possibly waiting for these folks to inevitably set off a powder keg so that he can swoop in without argument.

What about calling up the insurrection act for people preventing the enforcement of federal law as outlined in the insurrection act?

The only thing he can do is to invoke the Insurrection Act, but that is politically risky most of the time. And if he does that, the ACLU will immediately sue and tie it up in the courts. It could come to a situation where the courts order the military to stand down as the case proceeds. That means they could be deployed but wouldn't be able to do anything.

So, yeah, there's nothing Trump can do here.

I had to chuckle. There is this story about the Roman Senate, Caesar, and this river called the Rubicon, ya might want to catch up on your reading.

Or in modern day nomenclature, from the movie The Treasure of Sierra Madre...."Baggeeeees, Baggeees, we don need no stinkin Baggeeess".

Because that is what the Left is hoping for - a mass confrontation of unarmed protestors and armed “stormtroopers”. Look at the video of Renee Good’s butch girlfriend taunting the ICE agent. She is doing what she was trained to do, irritate the shite out of them until she can provoke them into a physical confrontation. Armed men confronting unarmed protestors almost always swings voter sentiment toward the unarmed “victims”.

Tim who would call them in return.

No, Tim Walz will not try to oppose Trump with the National Guard. That is proscribed by the US Constitution and he would face a sentence of time in a federal penitentiary if he did that.

I’m sorry, but the standard of behavior should be much higher for armed law enforcement than people protesting. If your reaction to getting shouted at or insulted is to perpetrate violence, then maybe you’re in the wrong field.

Not specifically talking about the shooting, mainly just in general.

Hopefully the FBI and DOJ are actively collecting intelligence on who is funding and organizing the mass-interference of law enforcement. Arrest the folks on the ground who break the law, sure; but they need to cut the head off the snake. Otherwise, this same story will play out in every other “sanctuary city” in the country.

Yeah, probably so, but that is what strategy is usually aimed at - the weak link in your enemy’s defense.
