Just go to work with whatever time makes sense. Let's all stop pretending it is 6 oclock when it really isn't. THERE IS NO LAW that says work starts at a certain time.

I understand it perfectly fine I just disagree with you guys. Daylight savings time isn't necessary because the daylight hours naturally get longer that time of year and if you left it on permanent daylight savings time then it stays dark too long in the mornings.

I'd rather have more daylight in the morning than in the afternoon.

Because it’s just that easy right? Let’s just drop the kids off at whatever time makes sense as well, should be fine.

I hope not. I want to make it permanent, not abolish it. This standard time right now sucks.

Split the difference at 30 minutes and never do it again

Florida pushed to make DST permanent. It fizzled out and has been sat on.

It was started under the idea that it would save energy. Many studies prove it has zero savings on energy. Why does it remain? Well, golfers who like to play a round after work support it. But that's a tiny group of people. I think it may just be due to the strength of status quo. Changing something must have a compelling reason. Otherwise people will just keep it the same.
I'm for getting rid of DST.

Some of you have proven you don't know when savings time or standard time is.

Yes it is that easy. Easier then getting the whole country to all pretend it really isn't 6 o'clock.

I was thinking more along the lines of shooting hours. I'd rather not have to get up so damn early with little to no time to adjust.

You do realize there are tens of millions of people who can’t just elect to go in early or late if they so choose correct?

Yep. That's better than nothing. Sunset at 4:30 is depressing as hell.

I just want sunrise around 6-6:30am and sundown after 7:30-8pm. Get me that year round and you got my vote. TIA.

I think it's awesome. I love not hearing noisy lawnmowers, weedeaters, and blowers when I get home from work. No screaming kids or barking dogs.

I don't have to wait till 9 o'clock for it to get dark inside and go into movie watching mode.

And best of all it's daylight outside when I get up at 6:20 in the morning.

Neither. It was started in WWII to allow people to have additional daylight hours to grow Victory Gardens.

Last I checked, WWII is over.

Then again, if Trump is going to start WWIII, maybe we need to keep it?

It doesn't have to be that way. Instead of going to work at the same time year round, just do what we do now but instead call the time what the time really is.

Once a year you stop going to work at 6 and instead go to work at 7. And six months later you go back to at 6 again.

That is actually what we do now but we all pretend we don't by everyone changing what their clock says.

If we didnt fall back in the fall it would be 930 before it got dayligght in Dec/Jan. That dont seem doable because a few gripe about changing the clock. ITs done for a reason. Just be glad its just 4 months of it not 6.
