I do know they just passed to join that reggi nonsense that is some carbon credit scam most of the northeast states are part of. They then bury it in "transfer costs" of your energy.
What the frick happened to power bills since I left the states decades ago? Tranfer fees, taxes, environmental green fees. Whatever happened to a simple bill where you paid for the power you used?
Then they use your money to pay employees to go pick up litter once a year with tshirts you paid for, then run ads with your money telling you what good stewards of the environment they are

So, the dems are to blame for all states that electric / natural gas bills went up drastically everywhere?
Make it make sense.

You have to realize it is one of those people that just posts stuff from random influencers and yells at the clouds. He isn't a serious person.

Here's a letter from the CEO of our energy provider.... the one that refused to bury power lines not all that long ago.
California leading the way with love... so sweet.
but yes our bills have been going down and they offer up discounts too. Probably once every six months. Now these cuts that are happening are all after the fact that rates skyrocketed in the years prior. We are not enrolled in any lower rate programs and I do not have solar. PG&E has been running commercials where the CEO sits down with average people and they have talks about their commitment to all of us and the distrust the public has with them. They're not good commercials. But they are keeping their word (for now).
quote:
To Our PG&E Customers,
Five years ago, when I joined PG&E as CEO, I promised we would lead with love. People rolled their eyes—and maybe you’re rolling yours now. I get it. It’s different. But here’s the truth: Love works. It means putting your safety, your family’s well-being, and the affordability of your energy at the center of every decision we make.
Last year, we made a promise to you—to deliver meaningful progress. And together, leading with love, we have made real strides forward:
Lower bills: While electric prices are expected to rise nationwide this year, PG&E lowered residential electric prices four times in the last two years. We’ve committed to keeping bills flat in 2027 compared to 2025.
Wildfire safety: We’ve buried over 1,200 miles of powerlines and deployed cutting-edge technology to detect issues before they arise. It might surprise you that putting powerlines underground is the lowest cost way to prevent wildfires and keep your lights on. In fact, only about $1.75 in your monthly bill goes to undergrounding powerlines. Because of our wildfire safety efforts, our equipment hasn’t caused major wildfires for three years in a row—even under extreme weather conditions.
Trust grew: Your confidence in PG&E grew more than any other U.S. utility last year. That trust is our greatest honor.
We’re not done yet. We’re fighting to remove wildfire-related costs from your bills, expanding undergrounding, and embracing innovation to keep costs low and reliability high. Every day, our team wakes up with one purpose: to deliver warmth in the cold and light in the dark—safely and affordably.
We strive to earn your trust through our continued progress. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve you.
Leading with Love,
Patti Poppe
CEO, PG&E Corporation

I’ve heard of poor reading comprehension, but you have poor listening comprehension.
He clearly says this was usage from 2025. He then asks how he can be using twice as much energy.
Instead of telling other to check their sources, how about you finish 7th grade English before opining on things you know you don’t understand?

Geekboy, I didn’t vote for this. You seem to be cheering this on so you can act flabbergasted on the internet. There are plenty of hard working folks who didn’t vote for this. Why don’t you frick off

Since this thread is about electricity/energy bills I will ask a question.
How much do data centers factor into rising electric bills?

According to an article I read yesterday in our local ABC affiliate we have 275 of them in California and residential rates are dropping as I noted earlier.
