Just give him money. That poor guy just came from the frontlines. He is fighting the entirety of Russia by himself....and is in no way hiding away from the war.

If he shows up in a suit, people will speculate that he bought it with foreign aid money that is supposed to be used for the war effort. Dressing well and begging for money is not very smart.

Aren’t you supposed to be in Ukraine by now defending your fatherland and fighting for Der Führer Zelensky?

Do you think anyone is convinced that he is spending ALL of the money being sent to Ukraine, and doesn’t have the proper attire for a somber memorial celebration for those that sacrificed their lives at Normandy?

It’s a sham. Like Fidel Castro in his fatigues.

It’s disrespectful. But, he’s an actor, pretending to be a warrior. His wardrobe farce was not responsible for any Rusians being killed.

We all know that Zelensky is misusing the aid that has been sent. The other folks at the Memorial like Biden, Macron, etc don't know it though. They have bought into Zelensky's narrative which is why they continue to send billions in foreign aid.

I think he is basically blackmailing them. Ukraine is corrupt and has been used as a money laundering source. He was put in power to sustain that arrangement.

F*cking liar.

Ukraine, population 40 million before the war had a large national airline with all kinds of planes before the war. In fact it was considered by many a bit of a "secret airline" (get to Europe with one transfer (in Kiev) travel in business class for the price of coach on Air France, KLM etc.".

We didn't buy him that plane. Stop lying.

It wasn't the best airline the world, but you could not beat the price. Less than 300 dollars to Europe until 2019. Not bad for a teen kid with a girlfriend and a backpack.

Of course we should just turtle like wimps when a dictator takes over a country. That makes the world safer.

Why would people launder money there instead of a country like Malta where there are not KGB (sorry FSB) goons, Interpol investigators and all sorts of other agencies?

If you want to launder money the LAST place you want to do it right now is Ukraine. You'd probably be more successful in the USA in terms of getting away with it. Let alone various offshore islands famous for this like the Seychelles, etc.

You really cannot be this naive. You honestly think the billions we are sending there get to intended targets?

Yes I do.

You are paranoid "Oh there must be some theft" but without proof.

I think you'd be surprised. There is less theft in the world than you think.

No, I'm intellectually curious.
That sometimes leads to uncomfortable truths.

For example, here is what Biden's State Dept had to say about the topic within the past year. Corruption seems to be top-of-mind .... or are they "paranoid" too?
quote:

Though the biggest challenge is winning the war, Ukraine has a unique opportunity in the current moment to commit to the anti-corruption and judicial reforms needed to realize the aspirations of the Ukrainian people.

Political control wielded by the oligarchs who rose since Ukraine’s independence has fueled a system of corruption

Goal 2 expands and anchors key reforms that support anti-corruption, justice, governance, and a market economy in line with international standards

The war, post-war recovery, and implementation of martial law all create opportunities for increased illicit criminal enterprise, corruption and the roll-back of key reforms.

Reforms in the energy sector, a bastion of corruption and oligarchic control, are essential

Governance reforms are even more essential than ever, to support Ukraine’s beleaguered health system against systemic corruption and to reduce public perceptions of corruption linked to informal payments and access to care

Helping Ukraine end government corruption

Transnational criminal organizations actively seek to exploit destabilized environments and ill-governed space to advance illicit enterprise.

Risk associated with not meeting this objective include democratic backsliding, continued corruption

Ukraine must slay the corruption dragon once and for all.

Reducing corruption will also help advance U.S. national security goals.

The failure of Ukraine to adopt reforms and standards would constrain Ukraine’s economic recovery, perpetuate corruption, and offer Russia opportunities to destabilize Ukraine.
