Can we discuss the stoppage for the puto chant...

...and the possible outcomes from it? From my understanding in the broadcast if it continued the match could be abandoned and continued behind closed doors. So what's to stop Mexican fans from getting a road game abandoned by continuing to act like assholes so the game would have to be continued the next day with no home fans there either? It's just amazing how the "solution" in no way in this instance would punish the fanbase that is the actual problem.

They had fans storm the field to prolong the game so I wouldn't put it past them. But I am interested in the closed doors part. Would it be a complete replay of the game? Or just a continuation of the game?

It's a completely illogical "solution" that CONCACAF came up with to attempt to look like they are doing something but in actuality not really do anything to piss off the largest fanbase in the region.

Maybe the time has come to treat them like they treat us and other away fans. Give them their own fenced in section compete with barbed wire and riot police.

Can we talk about how puto warranted a stoppage but Mexican fans pelting players with full cups of whatever did not?

No kidding right? Hit their own damn player in the face with something as well. Was a disgrace. Event organizers really need to have a hard look at how to handle a game like this. The history is pretty clear, so if they have to pay a few hundred extra cops and put up some barriers so be it.
That crap may fly in bum frick Central America but has no business here. As far as the stoppage for chants and not pelting with objects, that just goes back to the clear ineptitude of concacaf and their officials. We always know it’s going to be bad, but it was over the top even for them last night. Just a shiteshow

The "solution" is a minor inconvenience that effects Mexico's opponent in the exact same way as Mexico. Alot of people say they should ban fans but that hurts the Concacaf bottom line and would probably lead to violence.
Here's an idea:
1st Time: Tata gets a warning
2nd Time: Tata gets a yellow
3rd Time: Tata gets a red and hes out
Another idea: Fine the shite out of the Federation

IDK about abandoning but if the run of play is going against a home side and things are teetering on the edge, the lever for home supporters to give their side respite to regroup (by literally shutting the game down) could not be easier to pull.
MX hasn't played many matches against decent competition since this thing started so the obvious and predictable conclusion hasn't yet taken effect, but at some point we all know Azteca is going to go apeshit and end up benefiting from it.

CONCACAF won’t do shite until they have a reason to. They are the ones paying for the venue and the security, or lack there of.

I hope Mexico gets to play an Arab country at the next world cup. Algeria, Egypt, Turkey, etc. Would love to see the reactions from those fans being called something they would quite literally murder you over.

Mexico forfeits. Pretty easy solution if they actually wanted to stop it.
