Bruh, they are not only teammates, they are his friend. There is no way mentally you can play after seeing that.

Blow me.

It's a proven side effect in young men.

It can lead to heart issues.

It's just as likely as anything else.

You really expect players to be able to focus on a game minutes after seeing their friend collapse and almost die?

Guess not

Seems similar to QB blowing out knee

Regardless hope for full recovery

In Seville, Spain and the network carrying the matches is reporting that he was revived on the pitch.

that is correct. crazy how many times he's changed teams which requires a physical and wouldn't have been caught tho.

You can catch some stuff on EKG and some stuff on echocardiogram (ultrasound). Some stuff you can’t catch and requires a cardiac MRI. I know all European teams are doing EKGs. You would hope high level athletes would get ECHOs during their physicals, too. I doubt most places do cardiac MRI because it’s pretty low yield.

Seems like those are the only four people on the planet who haven't gotten the update yet. Also, UEFA's Twitter account makes it seem like they're considering finishing this game.

You think reviving someone, like bringing someone back from the verge of death, is the same as a torn ACL? What the frick is wrong with people

Oh, yeah. Super similar situation. Heart stops working vs tearing an ACL. Possible death vs a few months of rehab.

frick, man, thanks for a posting this pic. I wasn’t watching the match and just happened to see a Spurs fan page on Facebook post about prayers for Eriksen. Had no idea what happened until I flipped it on ESPN. I have to say, I got choked up seeing this pic. Christian is one of my favorite Spurs players ever, and I’ve wanted nothing but the best for him in his footballing career since he left. Hopes he pulls through and can get back to playing.
