@MLSAnalyst
Can add "first home loss to Mexico in a WCQ in 44 years" and "first home loss in a WCQ in 15 years" to this list.

The GOAT at job security though.

First loss in Columbus... the soccer mecca of US Soccer

Seriously, it blew my fricking mind that he trotted out a 3-5-2 not expecting the team to look lost.

Wow. I forgot about us having the least shots of any Gold Cup team. That's fricking atrocious.

Add tonight to the crap heap of embarrassments.

I was on the road last night, so I missed the game. But watching highlights and reading post game, seems like Jurgy just threw every player under the bus.

quote:

Instead, he left his side vulnerable and rather predictably, Klinsmann blamed his players for the formation's failure, specifically Bradley and Jones. "The key in that system is that your central midfielders need to get into these one against one battles," he said in his postgame news conference. "That's something that was not happening the first 25-30 minutes. Not Michael Bradley nor Jermaine got into these battles and their players could roam and that really puts difficulties so that gave them their chances, so we changed it then back because we train different systems, we have that always available. "It calmed down the situation then and I think the second half was really good. If you go back to set pieces, we had ours with Omar [Gonzalez]'s open header there and it could have easily a goal. But they scored two minutes before the end of the game. That's how it goes."

Also saw the comment about not marking the near post run.

It's like this dude can't bear to accept any blame for his tactical fricktitude.

I hate him so damn much.

I really miss Bob-Ball. We played a boring 4-4-2 low-block set, but at least Bob knew what the low-block was.

You have to fire Sunil

USA Soccer will never change till the Teflon Don is gone.

So at this point, would Jurgen just have to porky pig it on the sidelines to get fired?

He should have been gone 30 seconds after he cut Landon Donovan.

I'm so tired of Klinsmann. I'm not just saying this because we lost last night, but there should be real fear in everyone that we may not make it out of the hex.

It pisses me off that he has us do those retarded corners every time. Remember when we had Gooch and Boca knocking in corners on the reg instead of having a mediocre set piece taker try olympicos because it happened to work one time over a year ago?

I think we can all agree that, even though we wanted him gone, Bob got a raw-arse deal with US Soccer.

Despite being our 2nd most successful coach (not saying much, I know), Sunil always had his finger on the eject button with Bob and it's even more disgraceful looking back on it considering Jurgen has a leash longer than the Amazon River.

Jurgen has always had a super long leash which is amazing because no one else will consider hiring him. He makes a ton of money, but I have no idea why we offered him such a nice contract. We were essentially negotiating between Jurgen taking the US job or relaxing in retirement in California.

Because he started flirting with Sunil right after 2006 and Sunil thinks himself a winner and the second Jurgen showed him interest, Sunil was hell-bent on landing him, regardless of how long it took.

Besides, on the surface it was a splash hire because we went from two career MLS guys to landing the coach of Germany and Bayern.

All flash, no substance and Sunil fell for it like a bitch.

Jurgen Klinsmann's career with the USMNT

- Klinsmann won a record-setting 12 straight games at home, and also led the MNT to a 12-game winning streak, the longest in program history in 2013

-Beat four-time World Cup champion Italy for the first time ever

-Earned the first win for the U.S. against Mexico on Mexican soil

-Defeated Jamaica on the road for the first time in World Cup Qualifying

-Has a current record of 12-1-5 in 2016 and an overall record of 55-16-25, or a win percentage of 65.1%, second only in USMNT history (for qualifying coaches) to Bruce Arena whose career record was 71-29-30 (65.77%).

Jurgen pisses me off as much as the next Soccer board poster, but he hasn't been some slouch as our manager. Yeah, he pisses me the frick off when he pulls crap like he did Friday, but we aren't Germany, we aren't Spain and we aren't an elite national team and guess what, sometimes we're going to lose, even if it's against the No. 17 ranked country in the world on home soil.

I'm not saying we should keep him, but in my mind there isn't anyone out there, especially in MLS, that I personally believe could do a better job than he is at this moment. If someone's name does come up and Jurgen doesn't pull his shite together, then I'll be all for it, but for as aggravating as he is, I think his past work has earned him the right to survive one loss in the first match of the hex.
