I thought they were going to let him keep the majority of his image rights which is big and worth a ton. No other Madrid players really have that deal.

Yeah I don’t understand that reasoning.
He has led the French NT to a World Cup and a final, and this is a historically inconsistent and volatile side.
Ligue 1 is obviously pretty easy but he’s done well there.

To be fair, that hasn’t been true since Deschamps took over. France probably should have won Euro ‘16 and he wasn’t on that squad. Deschamps, though terribly boring, is a really pragmatic manager who might be the best person to manage those personalities. We did lose the insane French drama each tournament where they looked like either a team from heaven itself or that one team in every intramural league made up every great foreign student from one soccer country but also they all hate each other.

I would bet that Mbappe asked for a guarantee that he would primarily play as Left-winger. He doesn't want the pressing responsibility that come with playing striker.
