More horrible refereeing. Missing the call and then letting the players call it.

In my opinion if you have lost control of the ball a penalty shouldn’t be given.
So anything goes as long as the guy isn't too close to the ball?

Var would have caught that. Was the right call.

Of course getting the ball matters, it’s the #1 part of tackling.

He doesn’t go through the back of him he gets the ball and then gets Griezmann on the follow through. It’s a good tackle

As for control of the ball you see loads of penalties where the striker knocks the ball well in front of them where they would have no chance to regain the ball whether it’s running through to the keeper or out of play but a penalty is given. For such a game changing decision I think they need to be taken into consideration

Is it just me, or has there been way more scoring than usual so far (despite Iran’s best efforts) this World Cup? Love it.

Scoreless draws are rarely entertaining.

I thought they were not using it unless there's the whole NFL-style ceremony? Or can the review team tell the ref not to even bother with that when it is so obvious?

I think they can rely on the guys in the booth if they want.

I think they have a group of 4 guys watching the monitors. On something like the handball, they'd probably tell him it's 100% a penalty and the ref would probably just go with that. On the 1st penalty, there was a little room for a judgement call, so they probably told him they thought it was a foul, but he should probably look at it himself.

Mooy representing baldies everywhere.

You could make a damn good XI with just baldies at the World Cup.
