No one in the US for sure. Again, it’s probably natural causes, but I wouldn’t say it’s out of the realm based on where he was in the world.

You're right. Those Middle East theocratic authoritarian governments are so rational.

It’s sad, but this is another story of an American fricking around overseas and paying the price. Hope the virtue signaling in a ME country was worth it.

It sounds like he was sick and died at the game

I doubt Qatar is going to spoil their tournament by knocking off a soccer journo

What sickness kills a healthy 48 year old though? Like the fact that he was sick for several days is almost weirder than if it was sudden.

We all know what Poli would say

And his wife is an epidemiologist on Biden's COVID-19 advisory board, so just go ahead and prepare for that narrative

And I feel like a total douchebag for making a thread a few weeks back calling Wall a chode. I felt that way at the time, but damn man, I would never wish this on him or his family. Truly awful news.

You starting that thread doesn't make you a douchebag at all. Absolutely terrible ending for him and it sucks for his family. There will be questions for the rest of forever but it doesn't invalidate your opinion on him.

Him being so open with his rainbow flags and reporting publicly makes you wonder the shite done in private in Qatar.

I will say it is absolutely random and suspect as frick to die during a massive quarterfinal in the World Cup of all places especially after how high profile his stories ok Qatar have been.

Respiratory issues and still went to the game lol

Nice social distancing. Ironic given his wife is an epidemiologist and he was a lockdown loser

This has me scratching my head too. Apparently he was complaining of bronchitis, which I get that you're in a foreign country, but shouldn't you go get that checked by a doctor? Especially considering his wife is a doctor and he was notoriously fearful of COVID.

This. Obviously don’t know his medical history, but by appearance only he looked like a guy that took good care of himself. So a relatively young guy just dropping dead also seems really bizarre.

Oh I don’t think the gov was involved, but fifa has admitted they keep the gay shite out of the stadium for personal safety reasons. And I believe it. This isn’t America. Life is cheap in that part of the world, they don’t give a shite.

I am just astonished so many people are naive enough to put their safety at risk. All over sending a “message”.

Nothing wrong with having a chode.

I have no idea if they killed him, but the fact that he even challenged them on the rainbow shirt just shows our arrogance as a nation.
