Assuming result holds, this was our first really good window in the lead up to the World Cup.

Two tough teams who had been good defensively as of late and ended Ecuador’s goalless streak of like 9 matches and are about to end Australia’s 8 match unbeaten streak.

Good shite. Keep it uo

Musah, Reyna

Maddening at how much they regressed since playing a HUGE part as teenagers when they broke into the squad in the first matches post-COVID

Gio cratered, and while Musah’s regression isn’t as bad, there was a point where many thought he was miles better than McKennie as an 8

Reyna especially makes me sad. At one point, he was viewed as one of the best U18 players in the world at the time, and it was totally legit. He's only regressed since then, and seems to have a shitty attitude.

Regardless, this window is encouraging. Three good results in a row. Hopefully we're rounding into form. We need to stop conceding first, though.

God damn Ive already watched that 2nd goal 30 times. Roldan and Haji both knew the assignment and the move and curl on the shot was sick.

I also apologize for every bad word about Roldan. What a game.

The big winners in this cycle have to be Haji Wright, Roldán, and Balogun. Also Chris Richards in leadership role imo.

Other winners include Arfsten, Tessman, and Aidan Morris. Also Diego Luna.

The losers imo were James Sands, CCV for being the only healthy scratch among position players besides Agyemang, and most of all, Agyemang who saw Haji Wright completely leapfrog him on the pecking order. I would also say Alex Freeman didn’t really distinguish himself in any way.

Not that there was any question about them, but McKennie and Tillman also looked really good.

I didn't get to watch, but what happened to Pulisic? Guy is made of glass... but again, didn't see.

Which was an insane thing to begin with, considering Haji is already a World Cup goal scorer.

I think Miles Robinson was a loser as well. He got skinned several times in this window

Was a pretty physical game that the ref lost control of quickly. Got brought down from behind and looked like he planted wrong on his leg underneath him. Hopefully it was more of a precautionary sub

Reports are it was a hamstring injury for CP. No clue the severity, but obviously those can linger.

Was a bullshite foul by the Aussie too. Pulisic turned him and the defender went low to stop the breakaway. I realize the guy is trying to make an impression for a spot on the WC roster, but it’s a crap foul in a friendly. In a competitive match, fine, but bullshite there.

That same defensive mid brought Pulisic down like 3-4 times in ten minutes. It was bush league. It was so obvious he was asked about it post match and said “we went targeting anyone in particular we’re just a physical team.”

Really shitty stuff from the aussies

And of course, the shitty tackle leads to Pulisic being out for a while. Reportedly the injury is serious.

I miss a lot of matches, but have seen Roldan slated all over the internet for years. But the times I have seen him in CONCACAF, especially, I have noticed how he forces the opposition to change their defensive shape when he comes on. He has, when I've seen him, drawn a LOT of attention. He is a better player than so many are willing to credit him.
I am pleased to see him have very obvious success.

Our team needs to grow some nuts in this regard.

Pulisic is the only one on our squad that will likely be targeted in every single match in the WC when it comes to facing physically imposing opponents.

Everyone on the field in R/W/B waited far too long to crunch back on the Aussies. The first time someone obviously chops down Pulisic, we need our guys to be on the draw and chop down someone else to send the message that we can get shitty too.

After the second foul, I saw Richards say to the ref "I told you this would happen"... I get it, he was on a yellow and could only do so much. There were 9 other players on the field though.

Make it known BEFORE we even get to the WC that if you want to play that game, it would behoove you to be better at it than us.

shite is infuriating. Ever since the NL Final in Denver vs Mexico we have lost that bite.
