When you read about Viera's managerial career, it leaves a lot to be desired. I completely forgot about that 3 game stretch with Palace where they failed to put a shot on target

I am no Palace fan but I remember that SOGless stretch they had that lasted like 7 halves. The USMNT can do a lot better than paying Patrick Viera $2.5 million to park the bus from now until August of 2026.

Pleas not Vierre. What is USSF’s obsession with MLS coaches

Poch would be a great hire but I don’t see why he would leave club coaching for us

The USMNT and England have been linked with a move for Argentine manager Mauricio Pochettino who is currently free after leaving the Chelsea job earlier in the summer. Per the terms of exit from the Blues, Pochettino can freely join a national team without compensation within six months of leaving the West London side

US Soccer just doesn’t want us to have any fun.

Crocker said a serial winning coach but he’s been more known for serial losing matches in a row.

According to Michele Giannone (TUDN) the three main candidates for the USMNT HC job are/were Steve Cherundolo, Wilfried Nancy, and Patrick Vieira. He also mentions Vieira is in current negotiations with USSoccer to become the next coach of the USMNT.

Ya Fox Sports is reporting Crocker has been interviewing someone(s) in Europe this week. If it is indeed Vierira that'll be a little disappointing as he's done nothing or note as a manager at any level. It would just be hiring a name for names sake.
We need a flight tracker for Crocker lol

Vieria would be a disaster if his club managerial history is any indication

May have well just kept Greg if that's the hire

I’ve resigned myself to being underwhelmed, whether it be due to USSF incompetence or a lack of elite coaching interest in the job. I’d rather Cherundolo than someone like Viera. At least we don’t know for sure with the former.

Ironically, us not meeting his number the first time is why we kept Gregg

Fabrizio Romano is linking us with a potential move on Thierry Henry after the Olympics. Says we have been in contact, unless I read wrong.

Dear baby Jesus, please let our Olympic squad embarrass France in the opener and they bomb out so we don't hire him. Hiring him would be way worse than Vieria.

Is there a rule in USSF that we have to hire a coach that coached in MLS?
Looking at all the old pros with nice playing careers and little management experience seems very similar to a Klinsmann hire.

Henry would be laughably bad. I find it hard to believe anyone in charge thinks it would be a good idea.

Maybe you did read that wrong. Or Henry's agent reached out to us then 'leaked' that we were interested. I'd be fine with him coaching our U20s but not the Sr squad. He wouldn't take the U20 gig though cause he makes much more $ just sitting in a booth in London covering European football on Paramount every few weeks.

Have we hired anyone yet?
