Hopefully we get 4 or 6 points and see some other options at the gold cup. As far as Beasley is concerned I heard some one else say that Honduras' forwards play for Houston like Beasley and he would know their tendencies.

Anyone know whats up with A-A-ron Johanssonn?
He seemed like a nice player and then disappeared.

He got injured at the start of the season and then got healthy but hasn't been able to break into the starting 11. Been riding the pine.

Honduras' front three start for Houston. Da Beas probably knows a thing or two about them.

Dan, seemed like he was on the cusp of being the next big striker. Hopefully, he can get playing again.

Do you like anything about this roster? Because all I see is a lot of complaining.

First, let me say that I think this is a fine roster. That being said, allow me to discuss what I feel are a couple surprises.
Sacha Kljestan. I must disagree with another poster's statement that Kljestan has not looked particularly good so far this MLS season. First, two matches is not much of a sample size. Secondly, I disagree with the notion that he has not played well. I have watched every minute of his matches over the past couple weeks with a particular eye toward him. He has played well. His touch and technical skill, especially in space, is still outstanding. NY has played two matches and won two matches. While Kljestan has not offered a highlight reel, he has performed well. He is still the best #10 central midfielder for the USMNT, in my humble opinion. He offers the best ability to create chances and unlock defenses. If I had my druthers, I would have Kljestan in central midfield with Nagbe on the left and Pulisic on the right. I would like the odds of Kljestan creating chances and space for Nagbe and Pulisic to do what they do best.
That being said, I also understand the way Bruce Arena has played during most of his tenure at LA. He often prefers to run his offense not through midfield but through the wings, as he did with Donovan or Zardes or Lletget, etc. I expect him to do something similar with Johnson and Pulisic.
Next, Eric Lichaj. If Lichaj cannot make a roster when DeAndre Yedlin is out of the picture then I don't think he will ever make it. And I find that to be unfortunate because I feel he is the best second option at right back for the USMNT. He is not flashy, he does not excel at a particular aspect, but he does everything well. He has been an integral component for Forest and has played a lot of minutes in the Championship over the past several years now. He is always consistent. If you have ever watched or focused on a Forest match you know what he means to that club. He has the ability to play with both feet. He can go forward. He has the speed to recover. He is good in one v one situations. He is smart. He is experienced. At least Zusi is not included over Lichaj. That would have been an outrage.
That being said, I am aware of Arena's history with Omar Gonzalez. And Gonzalez has played well with Pachuca. So I anticipate Gonzalez starting at center back with Geoff Cameron moved out to right back. And that makes sense.

Also, if Johnson is on the left and Pulisic is on the right, who plays in the middle with Bradley...Jones or Bedoya?
I suspect it will be one of those two.

I think Lleget might play in the other central midfield role partnered with Bradley.

Jones is suspended for the first game. It's going to be Nagbe, Lletget or, God Forbid, Dax.

Lichaj is hurt. Bruce said he would have been an option for this camp if he were healthy.

He probably won't play at all in these games, but Acosta has been absolutely killing it so far for FC Dallas. He's already got 4 goals in all comps, 3 of which I belief were CONCACAF champions' league. I'm excited to see him hopefully boss the midfield for the gold cup.

Dax has been an excellent midfielder for several years now. None of the teams we are facing have players at a higher level, except for Andy Najar for Honduras. Dax looked good in the January camp. He's a smart player. I am totally ok with him starting next to Bradley.

Awesome. I think that's a better spot for him than what I initially thought. While he's old, he's still one of the best players we have.
They're very fast and can score well off the counter. Have to be very disciplined at the back.

Ah, I thought he had recovered from injury and returned to the lineup at Forest. Thanks for bringing me up to speed.
