Moved from Samsung.....to LG....to Hisense.
Picked up the Hisense earlier this year on a deal for $799. The pic is gorgeous, the sound is surprisingly powerful, and I'm very satisfied.
It's a 55" mini-LED QLED for my bedroom and I love it.

Tvs are affordable and disposable at this point. I have tvs that are on 15 hours a day at work and LG is where we have the longest lifespan ever Sony and Samsung. Funny side note: I am just starting to have plasma tvs from 2015 start to fail. I got my money's worth out of them

Only plus side to an expensive TV is if it comes with an ATSC 3.0 tuner and you live in a market with an ATSC 3.0 station.
That should be future proof once regular tv stations start broadcasting in 4k and HDR.

The quality difference is worth it and Sony has very good sales regularly. My 85" X90L was only $1500
Dolby's got you by the balls and you continue to sing their praises.

No. Just go view independent reviews/testing to see the difference.

Just build a lift to bring a normal sized tv out of the floor at the foot of the bed.
Sure.... if you have a two-story house and space to sacrifice on the first floor for when the TV is not raised.

I got the TCL QM7K a few months ago and absolutely love it. Great TV.

I am 75 years old and main tv is about a 15 year old Sony Bravia. Not even 4k. I have 3 inputs one each for a Roku, Chromecast and Firestick. I would like to "modernize" somewhat, but I cannot justify, the thing is working flawlessly

eyeballing the 75" QM7K but it seems to be $999 everywhere and not on sale beyond that.

Hey CAD, I pulled the trigger today on the TCL QM8K 98” for $2999.99. Top rated 98-100 inch TV everywhere you check, including rtings.com.
I am traditionally a Sony/LG snob. But this might be the deal of the year.
Best Buy will on Monday install on wall, set up and then move and mount my current tv in master. Will report back after I get it in.
By the way, I’m still using the IPTV account you set me up with last year. But having a lot of wonky connections with Plex Media Server going to my main TV. May hit you up for some advice when I get the big 98” set up.
Thanks again.

The TCL 98QM8K was installed today. Looks great but it’s early. Still fiddling with settings.
Best Buy installers were fast and focused. No way I wanted to mount that 98 inch monster.
As said, I’m still fooling with picture settings but my Apple TV 4K box is sending a damn nice Dolby Vision IQ signal. Had to turn down brightness from 100 to 70 for now. Really really bright picture.
Only thing I’ve noticed, coming from my Sony OLED, is the TCL does not upscale inferior signals like the Sony. 1080p and 4K signals are fine though.
Over the air antennae TV looks nice also.
On a side note, those short, 4K, AI movies (Egypt-like and Medeval babes) that run on You Tube are eye-popping for sure.
More later as I get it tuned in.
Paid $2,999.99 for the QM8K.
