I’ll report what happens there this weekend. Tax day freshies incoming. Excited to scope out the new Woodward features in Mineral Basin zone.

Been in Denver area for 11 years and finally made it out to Loveland today. It was a bluebird day with no wind and they had gotten snow yesterday so we had a blast. I'm considering getting a pass there next year now. The convenience of not going through the tunnel is tits. I'd love to get out when the cats are running. The knock on it is that it is mostly above treeline so on a cloudy day visibility would suck and I have heard about the wind.

I am considering a pass there or monarch next year. Both include 3 days at some of the smaller mtns in the state like Cooper, Sunlight, Purgatory....I am trying to sell my kids on just checking out the rest of the mtns next year then we can go back to Epic/Ikon the following year.

@Solitude today.

A few inches overnight and throughout the day. Variable snowpack. Working for a lot of turns in ungroomed zones. No one around. Not too shabby.

That looks nice! I love spring skiing, low crowds and warmer weather with the chance of powder. I skied Copper last year around this time, had 8 inches of powder and I was skiing onto the three bears lift all day with zero wait. One of my better ski days ever.

Still thinking about one more trip, was leaning SLC but now thinking about Summit county and MayBasin.

Haven’t skied in quite a few years. Decent but not expert. I’m usually mid to upper blues and very low black runs. Looking to go solo or possibly with someone for quick 3 day spring trip. Don’t need big luxury, just want fast access to mountain from airport and slopes from ski in/out. What do y’all recommend?

I think the ski in/ ski out part partly goes hand in hand with luxury. I'll post a few options below that are close to airports

1. Fly into Hayden CO and do Steamboat (25 min drive)
2. Fly into Salt Lake City and stay at any of the resorts or towns near the mountains. If you're a blue skier, maybe stay in Ogden and ski Snowbasin or pay the $$ and ski Park City
3. Fly into Hailey ID and do Sun Valley. Decent amount of hotel options in town and it's very close to the airport (20 min drive)
4. Fly into Eagle CO and ski Vail or Beaver Creek. Going to be $$ though

Can't speak on Idaho or Utah but Beaver Creek and Steamboat are done for the season here in Colorado.

Winter just wont end here though. Storm going on now and another one next week. Going to be a wild rafting season.

SLC(Snowbird/Solitude), Colorado( Breck, Copper) and Lake Tahoe(Palisades) would be your best bet. A-basin is another but no ski in/out.

Option 2 but it’s disappearing quickly.

@ Snowbird. Snowed throughout the day. It’s starting to fill back in after last weeks meltdown.

Fluff on crust. Low vis up top. Baldy lift closed.
Ran it up and down though.

Had heard they might be down to just a few lifts the last weekend, not sure if that is true or not but I was planning to ski maybe one day there at the most.

They'll keep cutting down lifts, though it looks like Copper pulled 10" over the last 24 so might be slower to close.

Alpine and Reso (and Lumberjack but that doesnt matter) are done for the year.

Day 19 @ Snowbird. Left the hill early today. Only clocked 17K today. Loser.

Saw a dude Air Jordan a cliff between a friend and I. He splats and a ski pops.

I see his ski. It is folded. In half.

I’ve never seen a ski fold in half like that. 25 seasons now. Impressive.

Nevertheless, the melt is on.
Little Cottonwood Canyon has taken tons of avalanche debris because of it:

Gotta go to Mammoth or Hood now. Not much left to the season unless you’re heading to Chile or the Southern Hemisphere.

Prost

Was it worth it? I still have 6 days to use there. Debating if I'm ready to hang it up for the year or get out there a few more times
