Go to any of a half-dozen ski resorts - rent a mountain bike and ride the ski lift up and coast down.

Keep in mind downhill mountain bike trails are rated just like ski runs. If you haven't been on a downhill bike stick with white or maybe green.

any details? my friend also recommended Denver.

The list posted above covers a lot, but the weather is a big one. Denver in the summer is great if you are used to the hot humid South. Bonus is you get to laugh at locals complaining about the "heat" while you are enjoying the nice dry, sweat free day.

South side or north side? That determines whether you’ll survive

I know the city gets a lot of hate but Seattle in the summer is fantastic.

Especially if you're on the "wrong side" of who to cheer for at that park.

Do a early American tour in these smaller cities: St.Augustine, Savannah, and Charleston. Great history, great food, and great places to stay and all three are safe unlike New Orleans

All these cities are within 4 hours if you are driving also

I would enjoy a weekend in DC just to see the Smithsonian and a few other sites. Haven’t been since I was a kid.

I been wanting to fly out to Tampa alone, and hang around Ybor City and smoke cigars in peace and quiet for a weekend.

I’ll just tell my wife my job is sending me to my companies corporate office for vendor “training”.

I’ve been in rainy season and I guess I was lucky but it was nothing more than a minor convenience. Monteverdi was my fav spot. Perfect temp awesome views and lovely dark haired brown ladies.
