I’ll have a quick stop in Charleston with a free afternoon/evening and a morning to explore Charleston. What are some things I can do in this time frame?

If the weather is nice I would take a walk along rainbow row and the battery.
Go get a drink in a rooftop bar or we also like the Church and Union Bar it’s near the market and you could walk through it. It’s a much nicer version of Nola.

Sit at pearlz and eat lots of oysters. Have a few cheap cold beers at the same time.

What dates/days of the week?
With that short of a timeframe, and assuming you've never been here before, I'd recommend:
- Carriage Tour (we like Old South but they're largely all the same)
- Walk through the City Market and then check out Waterfront Park and the famous Pineapple Fountain
- If you're up for it continue the walk from Waterfront down The Battery and check out White Point Garden (there's construction going on on that portion of the seawall so views are a bit obstructed but it's still really pretty and the homes are gorgeous) - you could check out Rainbow Row on this route
- Try and get dinner at SNOB, Magnolia's, or High Cotton (need reservations but can also try open seating at the bar)
- Just stroll around the historic area to see the homes, architecture, and whatever looks interesting
All of those things are in the same general area and you could knock them out in one afternoon/evening.
Depending on the exact dates you're here there are season-specific things that would be fun like
- holiday themed bars (e.g. beer garden at Blind Tiger)
- the Charleston Holiday Parade on 12/7, we'll be walking in it with the Dachshunds of Charleston group
- the holiday boat parade on 12/14
- The Mt Pleasant Holiday Parade in the Old Village of Mt P on 12/15
- "First Friday" tomorrow (12/6) when all the galleries downtown open their doors and serve free wine and beer and some have finger foods
- "Second Sunday" on 12/8 where King St is shut down and all the stores bring stuff onto the street and thousands of people are out walking around shopping, drinking, etc
- Lots of bars will do free oyster roasts, which is a fun thing that's ubiquitous with the Lowcountry
There are some other yearly events that are really fun that may be happening when you're here.
