We are going look at 2021 Jayco North Point tomorrow. From reading forums, they are the best doing what we want. They require less maintenance and are just more reliable overall. Then I will go drive the 2021Ram Limited 2500. This will be a hell of a setup, but I want to be comfortable for the long travel and possible living in the trailer!

A friend’s husband sold motor homes, campers, etc. and they would buy a new one each spring, use it during the summer & then sell it. She said of all the various vehicles they had she liked the 5th wheeler the most.

Why not make up for lost time and just move to Europe for a few months?

If it’s just you and the wife, check out Airstream. Me and the wife will be doing this soon, probably next year, can’t beat the comfort and quality of an airstream, plus, you can get them into and out of more places. Huge 5ers are great, but to me, you end up dragging a ton of stuff with you, and it ends up being just like your house. Just my .02 cents.

Congratulations on you guys pulling the trigger on your goal.
Some free advice/suggestion on your spec’ing of your towing vehicle:
Don’t scrimp on the towing capacity of the truck. A bunch of folks have and lived to regret it.
Pulling a trailer in inclement weather and amidst grades (up and/or down) with too light of a vehicle is Russian Roulette.
Whatever truck you think you need, consider upgrading one graduation.
Good luck with your new life.

We’re currently looking at our next move and have talked about rv’ing full time. I found these homes in Guntersville AL that look like a cool option for a home base. Blue Heron RV Resort

I'd highly consider taking a look at a dually for towing a fifth wheel that large. The 2500 will do the job well but a dually will offer alot more stability over a short bed single wheel.
Otherwise congrats on the new venture!

I wouldn’t mind checking out what junk you’re getting rid of. My house is just about done being renovated.

I thought about that. They aren't much more than the fleet sides.

Guntersville is great. Location is nice too, many destinations without a super long drive.

Don't do it. That brand is shite.
I had a 2017 36' Jayco trailer.
Big hunks of shite.
Eta....they are better built brands that hold more value over time.

LOL! Thanks for asking. Was an epic gesture at the time. Quitting it all and going to Europe on my own.
Not to hijack the thread anymore, but the Cliff Note Version is when I graduated from undergrad, she went to visit parents in Saudi Arabia for the summer (they worked there in the oil industry), later found an older guy from Scotland for a short while there, and it set the tone for failure at the time when I got there. Keep in mind we'd been talking marriage, so it'd been serious. We had a good time traveling, but the elephant in the room was always there. It was over. After she went back to school, I traveled on my own backpacking in Italy, Greece Hungary, Austria, Germany and Belgium.
I'm happily married with kids these days yada yada. Saw her about 20 years ago and we kind of made our amends so to speak. If you know of Fogelberg's ‘Same Auld Lang Syne’ song, that pretty much hits the nail on the head.

Just for an update we had a realtor come to the house and we are expecting to make quite a bit more than we thought on our house. This will free up a lot more money for traveling and for unexpected things of course. We have decided on a 2021 ram 3500 dually and a 2021 grand design momentum 399TH toy hauler. I have a few things to update and fix within our home. We plan on putting it on the market within the next month to month and a half. I will keep updates as it goes forward.

Ram transmissions are shite. Our company bought a ton of 2500's and their transmissions are all failing. Mine at 122,000 others similar and less. I pulled maybe one trailer during the last three years.
Don't know if the newer models improved or not, just be careful.

Can you fit a jeep in a toy hauler?
