Just FYI quote:The movie shares a title with a 2016 book, Churchill's Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare by Giles Milton,[5] but the book was not part of the source material for the movie.[6]
Sorry should’ve clarified that I’m reading Churchill's Secret Warriors by Damien Lewis

I understand where you're coming from—the characters can be tricky to keep straight, especially with the unfamiliar names and their limited development. But the real strength of The Three-Body Problem is in its plot. While it starts slowly, the story builds momentum and unfolds at an almost exponential pace, introducing mind-blowing concepts that are worth the wait.
I finished it this morning, and I'm glad I pushed through. I did some googling to make sure I had the characters straight, and then the plot really started moving along. 4/5
Currently reading:
The Man With The Golden Gun - Ian Fleming
All the Pretty Horses - Cormac McCarthy
The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes - Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

I’m now rereading Rhythm of War to refresh my memory before the new stormlight book comes out.
After this, it’ll either be a Jeff Wheeler book or SPQR by Mary Beard.

Warmth of other suns is one of the best books I’ve read all year
I’ve been recommending it to anyone who will listen
The 3 storylines are fascinating and the lady from MS grew up not too far from where I did so it was interesting hearing her describe the timeframe the same time as my grandparents who’ve been dead for awhile now .
It’s so interesting to see how where they grew up, influenced where they ended up as they left the south
Hope you enjoy it like I did.

True Believer by Jack Carr
His first Terminal List was fantastic and blazed through it in a few days. He's a former Navy Seal and I've finally found a thriller, somewhat political, to where the author has his weapon verbiage and terminology correct. Some have no idea and it's absolutely frustrating reading some bull shite in a book regarding guns from someone who clearly has no fricking clue what they're writing

True believer was my least favorite of the Reese books
Way too much sailing in the first 1/3 of it. But it improves once he gets where he wants to go .
The rest are fantastic . Definitely keep reading the series .

Quantum of Solace: The Complete James Bond Short Stories - Ian Fleming. This will complete the Ian Fleming Bond books for me.
The Wide Wide Sea: Imperial Ambition, First Contact and the Fateful Final Voyage of Captain James Cook - Hampton Sides
The Monster Movies of Universal Studios - James L. Neibaur
I decided to put off Cormac Mccarthy's Border Trilogy until next year

Solid one. I like Hampton sides .
I read hellhound on his trail about MLK’s assassination and I had no idea about any of that. I thought they found the killer in Memphis soon after. Didn’t know there was a worldwide manhunt .

First I've read by him, but I loved it and hardly put it down. His writing style reminds me of Erik Larson. I'll look up the MLK book. Thanks for the recommendation

Piranesi's house is no ordinary building: its rooms are infinite, its corridors endless, its walls are lined with thousands upon thousands of statues, each one different from all the others. Within the labyrinth of halls an ocean is imprisoned; waves thunder up staircases, rooms are flooded in an instant. But Piranesi is not afraid; he understands the tides as he understands the pattern of the labyrinth itself. He lives to explore the house.
There is one other person in the house-a man called The Other, who visits Piranesi twice a week and asks for help with research into A Great and Secret Knowledge. But as Piranesi explores, evidence emerges of another person, and a terrible truth begins to unravel, revealing a world beyond the one Piranesi has always known.

There are parallel stories in this novel somewhat in the manner of The French Lieutenant's Woman. In Lies, one story takes place in present-day Charleston, where a woman's husband has been murdered, and the FBI thinks it is a mob hit. The woman's husband had mortgaged the couple's home in Charleston and their beach house nearby.
The parallel story is set in Charleston in 1866 and in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. The woman's husband in this story was a Confederate cavalry officer who was killed in South Texas in a skirmish with Union troops three months after Lee had surrendered at Appomattox. She is about to lose her home near Charleston.
I'm sure these stories are going to merge somehow, and I'll let the good people of this thread know-how.

I'm currently reading Deja Dead by Kathy Reich
I liked the bones show but know the similarities between the show and books ended with the main character and not even all that is the same, but wanted to give them a shot
Will probably just stick to the first one
