Are you just starting a thread for every random thought you have this afternoon?

I just said essentially the same thing in another thread.

He stays at LSY and maybe he could get offered a smaller SEC School.

that's a pretty important word for a guy that is pretty open about wanting to be a HC someday.

But… MEMPHIS ????

their last 3 Head Coaches have used Memphis as a springboard to... Va Tech, Florida State, and Arkansas.

so yeah, Memphis is a pretty good launching spot for an aspiring Head Coach.

Baker interviewing for the Tulane and Memphis job says he's not an idiot.

Just because he's interviewing for head coaching vacancies doesn't mean he necessarily is trying to rush out the door at LSU. If he was interviewing for a defensive coordinator opening elsewhere, then I'd agree he wants out.

He might just be itching for an opportunity to be a head coach. He might not really be interested in either HC job and just be taking the interviews as a way to improve his interview skills for when a bigger job comes open that he really wants.

He would be an idiot to run out away from a team that will finally get him an offense. He will be worth more in a year or two

Better to stay at LSU ….. keeps you in the spotlight and you can handpick your job after winning with Lane.

The schools will come running for you. !!

To me… that’s better than Memphis !!!

Why are you posting so many obnoxious threads? What do you get out of this?

not many top level Power 4 schools hire guys for their first ever HC gig.
they usually go the Group of 5 route (if they can't steal another Power 4 guy)
Starting in Group of 5 is the normal route.

ok, so let's compare the two jobs

LSU defensive coordinators since 2012 and where they ended up
Chavis .... not a head coach
Steele ... not a head coach
Aranda ... head coach @ Baylor
House ... not a head coach
Baker ... to be determined

20% of our DCs moved on to become a head coach somewhere in the power 5

Memphis Head Coaches over same time frame

Justin Fuentes .... Hired by Va Tech
Mike Norvell .... Hired by Florida State
Ryan Silverfield .... Hired by Arkansas

100% have been hired by Power 5 schools

I give credit when credit is due ….

Good Data !!!!

Problem is … most of these prepubescent anti-intelligent guys don’t deserve credit.

Just 2 weeks ago Coach Baker talked about how much he loves LSU & he & his wife love LSU & B.R. And it's not about money as according to several LSU-related podcasts LK offered him a big increase in salary. His interviewing is just about possibly advancing his career.

That clown doesn’t know his dick from his balls.
Obviously Baker wants out of LSU… as a head coach! But like the OP with the extra chromosome should have noted, this isn’t exactly breaking news.

Memphis is the biggest spending and best supported program in the G5. Finishing a $250 million stadium upgrade right now and backed by FedEx money in NIL.

If Baker were slumming around interviewing at Kennessaw State you might have a tiny bit of a point. He’s interviewed at 2 of the 3 best programs at that level and he’s an alum of one of them.

fricking casual.
