Nice, that means we will more than likely keep Weiss Jr.

Penn State shouldn't be a place that hires a guy that needs to cut his teeth at the position.

might have always been tough to get the keys to a big p5 school coaching under Day's shadow at OSU. Golesh has done the heavy lifting turning them around, if Hartline can keep it going his name will come up for good jobs in a season or two

Even though it will be largely ignored by the media, this will illustrate just how important it was for LSU and Ole Miss that Kiffin announced before the playoffs.

They're about to have to go deeper into the barrel than that.

They really fricked up firing Franklin. I wonder if they’d have done it if they realized LSU and Florida would open up shortly thereafter

They’re arrogant enough to believe they were the best available job even with LSU and Florida open.

This is good and CBK to Penn State now seems a realistic possibility. All the good ones are taken. Penn State doing Penn State things. Really not sure what that Athletic Administration is doing waiting this long.

They’re a pretty damn good job. Especially as long as Sharone Moore and Lincoln Reilly are coaching in the conference.

The only real threats are Ohio State, Michigan, USC, and Oregon, and Indiana as long as 65 year old cignetti sticks around.

Big 10 is a 3 bid league minimum and there’s only 6 legitimate contenders. 2 of which have bad coaches right now and the third has a coach that you should outlast and isn’t a traditional power

Only playoff coach options are Elko, Cignetti (longshot), and maybe TTech's. But the latter is saying publicly he wants to die a Red Raider.
He just signed an extension through 2032 yesterday. And Oil Money wasn’t going I let him leave.

Hartline is in the playoff. He has a conference championship game this weekend, rius.
Who else could Penn State possibly be targeting?

Hell, doesn't the BYU coach have a conference championship amd possible playoff coming up too? They were gonna hire him.

Right. They were trying to get sitake. I don't think they have some mystery candidate locked up.

People on here get caught up in the smoke screen bullshite.

Who is even available that isn't BK? Their fanbase will riot over that hire. He's Franklin 2.0 at best.

They should consider punting this season to an interim if that's all they have left. No reason to hand someone $15m for a three year BS run if you don't believe in them.

You figure the guys like Brohm or Key would have been hired by now if that was the move.

Maybe. They’re about to downgrade at HC and their recruiting class is DOA.

May need to look to the NFL

Daboll seems to fit if he wants to go back to college. Big name that coached under Saban and was successful in the NFL as an OC and mid as a HC (but bad luck and horrible management-drafting by the GM played a big role in that).

I think the alma matter factor was big for Brohm, Key, and Dilly.
