Now, we can admit that Lucas is a big loss, but also say that Barnes is one helluva replacement - and on paper, could *potentially* be an upgrade.
On paper, Ryan Leaf was potentially better than Peyton Manning.
You can make anybody into anything your prejudices desire…on paper.

This is an impressively retarded take.
Barnes has been developing DEs at a consistently high level at PSU for several years. It's not like this is a shot in the dark. No, he's not bringing the ghost of Abdul Carter with him. But to act as if he doesn't have a solid resume (which is literally a piece of paper) and could potentially be an upgrade to a coach SC liked and respected is stupid.
The fact that SC had a plan in place so quickly after Lucas left leads me to believe that this was planned and in the cards for quite some time. Again, great hire for SC. Great hire for LSU. But this being tRant, of course the narrative is that SC is salty.

LSU fans are Clemson’s fan’s poor, retarde: cousins who don’t speak English all that well so you have to adjust your expectations accordingly when you engage with them.

I'm not gonna get past that paywall, but my observation is that Deion Barnes was told to look for a place to land by Matt Campbell. This is only his 3rd year as a position coach. Hope he works out for y'all.
