but I give him more props for coaching in the Big 12 rather than coaching Notre Dame which schedules cupcakes and ACC teams.

You can’t be serious with this.

If you sit back breathe and take it all in it’s an A+ hire. Notre Dame has restrictions for academics they already recruit at a high level so I’m coming here locking down the state, And just the name Brian Kelly will get the rest of our top notch out of staters and some of the ones that get away. I think we’re going to start out recruiting Georgia and Alabama. It would’ve been a different ball game with LSU athletes when Notre Dame played Alabama

You're recruiting a different breed of athlete in the SEC versus what you're recruiting at ND. Brian Kelly won't lock down shite. Saban will pillage.

Very positive. I didn’t think Kelly would leave that part of the country and a big time program like ND. He pulled it off.

Dead serious. The Big 12 is a better conference than the ACC. K-State and Iowa State and Okie State are better programs than facing Boston College, Stanford, USC, Wake Forest (I know Wake is having a good season), and service academies.

I was definitely melting when Riley fell through and Florida capped it off by hiring Napier who seemed like the best fall back, but this is a great hire and you can't ask for anything better.

A+.

Notre Dame was on life support before he showed up.

It’s a good hire with the options available. I would have preferred Riley but I’d rather someone with a proven track record at a big school over someone like Aranda or Napier. He also doesn’t seem to have baggage like Kiffin or Meyer.

Laying up instead of going for it.

C-

SW is looking for 8 wins for a few years before he throws another 20mil a year at someone else. This could be really bad for our athletic program across the board if his hires don’t work out. At some point the money and supporters will stop.

Easily the most overrated AD in country. Great at overpaying. He is destroying LSU Athletics.

Dude Brian Kelly’s going to make Saban retire . Notre Dame would’ve stomped Alabama‘s arse with LSU athletes.. Look at the last two buffoons who won at LSU they are nowhere near on Brian Kelly’s level so I can understand you being scared

If true (I have seen no sourcing from either side) a B hire, I think it is an emergency (face-saving) hire; he clearly did not have his man weeks ago. This is evidenced by the amount of money he had to shell out; seems to be grossly overpaid.

No question he is a good coach, but with some interesting questions marks:

- Can he relate to the average Louisiana 4 and 5 star athletes/LA Coaches, both from an age and cultural prospective. For instance, it will be interesting to see if he is able to re-recruit Citizen, Anderson and the safety from Amite. Can he shut the likes of Fisher, Napier, Saban, Kiffin, and Smart from stealing our top-rated Louisiana recruits? He recruits a different brand of kid to go to ND. Doubtful, but we will see if he is hired.

- His football philosophy may not appeal to many down here (especially all those receivers we have been recruiting)...seems to be more conservative in his offensive approach (maybe wrong, but we will see)

He has had much success up there...I am not sure that it will definitely translate to down here. Just not a cultural fit.

Better than most of the realistic candidates left...way below Dabo though. Hoping all my concerns are wrong.

Terribly underwhelming considering the options available with the money he throws around.
