If Lane stays, then this would have been the worst handled end to the season I could possibly imagine. He isn't hyping Ole Miss up to the playoff committee in pressers, talking about how cool of a story Chambliss is, working to get Lacy some Heisman hype, etc. He's just going through the motions. He had a great stage after the Florida game when we secured our 10th win to talk about the program and he instead mentioned a weaker crowd against an FCS school again.

I say if he signs a contract to be LSU’s coach then let him coach the playoffs if Ole Miss gets in. That way, if the unthinkable happens and Ole Miss lucks into a championship, it will be LSU’s coach that got them there and we can claim the national championship as well. Add another flag, baws!

Let’s say he does that and then lsu Florida and even throw in pen state find coaches. Ole miss will then low ball the shite out of him and he will be forced to stay for a bargain. He is leaving saturday

OM would not allow him anywhere around the team. No way a Tiger coach will be allowed to coach the tea, Plus there won't be a playoff game if Lane announces Sat or Sunday. All teams that are selected will have a HC. They want competitive games.

Yes, a college coach can sign a contract to work for a new university while still coaching at their current one, but they must adhere to their existing contract's terms, including any notice periods, and may have to pay a "buyout". A new contract is often signed after a coach is hired away, with the new school paying the previous school a buyout fee
