I like Lane. He’s witty, wildly entertaining and his team is usually fun to watch, but he’s not a top tier football coach.
He gets bored by plays that work, he’s easily frustrated, and when drives stall he gets stubborn and takes risks with bad odds.
The Ole Miss/WSU game this year had all of this.

If he was a cant miss coach, why didnt Saban advise Bama to get him? Sure he hadnt been a HC at OM for long but Saban knew him as well as anybody.
I like Kiffin and his offenses. He does take big risks that would drive us crazy and i can see him being risky in other areas that could cause grief.

Kiffin used to do that. About 3 years ago. With a defense he doesnt do that.

It's pretty simple. LSU can't afford to be left at the altar. You tell Kiffin we need to hire with enough time to seal up signing day. If he doesn't you move on. He is definitely the type of guy to screw around with LSU so that they are left with only crappy options. We're currently his competition. He would definitely do what he can to make us worse if he doesn't plan on coming.
