Well Ross Dellenger reported something similar. Numbers might be off a little but I bet Scott was willing to pay Jimbo more than he's paying Kelly.

Where and when? Reality doesn't match up with any report that SW was going to offer Jimbo $15.6 million per year. We've SEEN Kelly's contract. No fricking way. Ross was wrong too if he reported that. It's a clownish number looking at top coaching salaries and unless you're willing to believe Scott Woodward is far dumber than we thought, it didn't happen.

Not $5.6million more. Not even close. There's not a shred of evidence we offered Jimbo that amount. We only know what Kelly got when it was done and we know what other coaches currently make, including the best to ever do it Nick Saban who does not make that much.

I don’t believe this.
1) aTm is starting to question if Jimbo is their football savior. Seat warming.
2) Jimbo is realizing that aTm has a limited recruiting base.
3) Jimbo is smart enough to know that Texas and OU in SEC will reduce said base.
4) $13 million/year offer!?
A) if true he would have leveraged this for a new and improved aTm contract.
B) if aTm wouldn’t have opened their ATM he’d be cashing his first LSU check.

"Look, LSU was willing to pay our glorious coach $15.6million per year because he's so amazing and desirable! And he didn't take it because the A&M program is OH SO AMAZING AND WONDERFUL and better than LSU!"
You can convince me LSU offered Jimbo, and you can convince me he's a better fit for LSU and even a better coach than Kelly in some ways. But on no planet is Jimbo worth that much more than any other coach. I don't even believe LSU could get those funds to offer such a ridiculous amount.
