True. Most said CR was washed and it wouldnt be that big of a loss. That was incorrect it seems.

I think Kiffin is right on the money, you try to keep Frank in a analyst/recruiting role, thats what hes best at and would benefit the most.

Hopefully they work smthg like that out. But I wont argue bringing in a better coach even it means losing Frank

I like Frank but he is nothing special as a coach and as a recruiter. People are acting as if he is some Ace assistance.

The question becomes, are you ok missing on a HS player or two annually from the Nola pipeline because Frank is gone if it means bringing in an elite RB coach in Kevin Smith?

There's no such thing as an elite RB coach.

Don't fool yourself.

So a couple of weeks ago he was holding things together and a true ambassador of the program and Louisiana. Now we have a bunch of people running him down? This place is bipolar.

Harlem Berry is tied to Frank pretty much, no? His parents sure made it seem like it. Hate to lose him.

I don't want him to go but Ole Miss would be ideal vs a power school

I think our new ST coach, the Honey Badger would lock down South La in a huge way. What coach is going to turn down him recruiting their players, especially with his fantastic turnaround in his life. Great story Great Tiger and hopefully a great ST coach at LSU.

These are delusional. As are terms like “elite recruiter” or “great recruiter “. There is no such thing. You guys give coaches or whoever way too much credit when it comes to signing kids. There is no magic these guys have. 80% of the kids on the roster at a given school were going there if they received an offer. The few you have to fight over usually lean one way heavily but they are swayed at the end by money, mama, geography or their favorite team growing up.

This recruiting magic you imagine is simply staying in touch with kids and having a relationship with high school coaches. No magic words, no sales tactics, nothing that these guys do or say change the mind of any kid.

And now, it’s all about one thing…money. Disappointing I know.

Honestly, let him leave if that’s the case. CLK gunna bring in a bunch of dogs. Keeping a coach around for a player is dumb. We already went down this road with Sloan for underwood.

Then we’ll trade Berry for Lacy. No school should retain any coach to keep one player.

Kept Sloan around for Underwood and we see how all that worked out for LSU.
