Two independent sources have confirmed of the private dining event where Saban and Sexton had lunch last Wednesday with an LSU contingent at local restaurant.
I also heard this meeting took place in the New Orleans area… Can you confirm?

LSU probably asked him to come back and he said no but I will help you find a great coach.
This is the best thing I've heard that has any credence at all.

I'm disappointed to learn that you don't have mandatory zoom meetings with all your admins each day. Y'all gotta be on the same page, Chicken.

Oh, bullshite they aren’t.

The fact that you THINK they aren’t makes them the best trolls on this site.

A dinner where Saban talks about the LSU job with friends wouldn't have a conflict of interest.

Other than being employed by another University in the SEC. I do think Nick Saban has a lot more integrity than to do something like that. Is he also advising Florida, Auburn and Arkansas as well? He hasn't lived in BR in almost 20 years.

He's not acting in his role as an employee of Alabama.

His involvement may not even be due to any allegiances to LSU

When he was in BR, almost all communication he had with anyone went through Verge, the present AD. He and Verge recruited New Orleans together. They are still close to this day.

Meeting with Saban to vet Kiffin is just part of due diligence. I'm confident that Verge doesn't offer anyone this job without getting Saban's approval, and this doesn't have a damn thing to do with Alabama outside of the fact that Saban mentored Kiffin there.

No one knows the details of Saban’s current contract with bama. There might not be any language about him consulting for other schools.

Then why the employment by the University? Wouldn't it be more lucrative for him to be independent? Maybe he is consulting them on recruiting as well? No conflict there as he's not the HC either. Fascinating.

Question for you. Who do you think helped Ole Miss get the Aflac duck on our field and as an official sponsor at the last second last week?

Saban and Realtree guys are tight and for whatever reason, Saban in his retirement is very pro Ole Miss

If bama is giving him $$$ to hang around and do whatever he is doing without restrictions, why wouldn’t he take bama’s money and still consult?

Because he has more integrity than that.

If his contract is open and he is not breaking any rules, why can’t he work as he pleases?

What is his title at bama right now?

Genuinely asking as I don’t know.

If true (no reason not to believe it), he deserves a huge ovation any time he is introduced in Tiger Stadium. No more hard feelings.

Saban is being a gentleman and letting Kiffin pick first. If Kiffin elects to stay at OM or go to UF, Saban will give it one more geaux.
