It’s Lane. Everyone seems to think he’s a UF lock, just like Riley with us

Lane is going to want around 14 million a year and likely to be the highest paid college coach. Do you think LSU(donors) will do that? Maybe, but it sounds crazy to me. Sounds surreal. I guess it sounded like that for Saban in 2000.

Yeah, and Rich Rod, Mack Brown, Terry Bowden, Jim Mora, Bob Stoops. We are in a bad spot.

Diaz, Mullen, Willie Fritz

All three will have you back to looking for a new coach in 5 years though Fritz would only b/c due to age. He'd be a great hire. The other two y'all would be just as pissed at as you were w/Kelly.

Aside from the athletic director saying it's not happening, you're right on track

The ONLY reason there is any smoke around Saban is because some LSU fans are lighting matches and saying "See, look at the smoke".

No Sexton is doing it to cover for one of his clients.

Reminds me of when Riley was supposed to be our next head coach.

I agree. My conspiracy theory is that Kiffin is the target and he is getting soooo much attention that it is making it hard to focus on the end of the season and the playoffs. Kiffin and Saban are tight. I believe Saban is taking one for the team in allowing and even encouraging this rumor mill at LSU to provide the smoke screen and help Kiffin finish the season without so much outside noise. Too many mainline media people willing to run with this story to be just an internet rumor.

I might add that it is in LSU's best interest too with this Saban rumor flying everywhere if they are working back channel comms with Kiffin

I’ve been thinking kind of a similar thing… there’s some kind of Saban-Kiffin “connection” or overlap (or maybe interference?) to all of this. Haven’t quite put my finger on exactly what it is though yet.

This is one of the reasons why I don’t think it will be Lane. Between the eventual settlement on the BK case and the contract that Lane will be demanding, LSU will be locking up over $100 million in coaching costs and Lane will be wanting full guarantee. I don’t see how that happens.
