He thinks he’d take the Arkansas job

In the big picture….wild, wild West coaching carousel. runaway transfer portal, NIL, ever changing playoff rules. It’s a damn shame what college football has come to. It’s an out of control train wreck.

It’s incredible to see the amount of people that don’t see the difference between LSU and Ole Miss.
Like it or not, there is.
I do think the timing for Kiffin is bad right now, but Bama would get who they want if Deboer walks away.

Why do people keep saying this? Is it not obvious they are talking about bama job of deboar left for Michigan?

Now that Saban is gone there is no difference. Would love to know reasons why you think Alabama is a better job. The top 4 jobs in college football are LSU, Texas, Georgia, and Ohio State.

I think he is talking about if Bama job opens up
On top of that, everyone talks about "fit" He's at a place that he can basically do whatever he wants. The social media stuff everything. Neither of those schools would go for that. And neither Alabama or Michigan can offer more resources than LSU can offer him. The only thing that concerns me is the NFL.

He went through all that shite leaving Ole Miss just to go through the same thing a month later just because it’s the Bama job?

Really thinking Kiffin is above leaving ANYBODY is funny. There’s also a chance of a Moore situation with him as well, if we wanna be realistic

This is what I'm thinking. Maybe if he had a championship or two under his belt but I can't see there being any mutual interest right now

Is Lane safe in this next round of the coaching carousel ?
Lane will see all of this as the parting of the Red Sea.

His LSU contract actually has a big buyout unlike anywhere else he has been. That tells you right there he's convinced it's here or nowhere for him to win it all. Why would he leave? He might seriously consider it once he brings one to LSU. Before that, I doubt he thinks there's many other places that can do it just as well. As crappy as a politician as Landry is he brought all the money together. LSU has billionaire backers now.

Would you want to go coach somewhere where you’d always be 3rd fiddle to Bear Bryant and Saban?
Why go there when you could build at LSU just as easy and win multiple national championships and be LSUs GOAT? Alabama is not a bigger program lol. It’s just that Saban made it seem that way, if Saban had stayed at LSU you’d be saying LSU is the bigger program.

Alabama is not a bigger program lol.
Alabama is the most successful program in the SEC. They have longterm history, recent and current success unrivaled in college football, and certainly within the SEC.
Financially they are "enough", they don't have Texas money but they have enough to win in sports. They have the infrastructure within the program and a well-oiled booster system. They continue to pump in the recruits, their classes remain higher than ours. They are the benchmark in the conference.
Since 2000, which is when LSU has been at it's best, they've beat us 15 times to our 11 wins. We've had 4 double-digit wins, they've had 11. We've had 2 "greatest team of all time" candidates, in 2011 and 2019. In 2011, we won in OT after they missed 3 FGs in regulation, and then they beat us in the rematch by 21. In 2019, the team we widely hail as the greatest, we won by 5 after they outscored us 28-13 in the second half, and they had an onside kick attempt that could have given them the ball with a chance to win.
Overall, they beat us way more often than we beat Ole Miss, a program we have no doubt we're superior to. Alabama has beat us 13 of the last 15 games, and our last 4 wins have been OT (twice), 5 pts, and 3 pts.
I love LSU and am an alumni, but I'm not going to lie and say we're equal.
The only real drawback is right now, they are used to "Saban" level of success, where there's blowback if they aren't #1 in the conference every week, and don't win a national title every other year or so. That's impossible to do, so it's going to be a hot seat for whoever is there.
