10 year wedding anniversary in Charleston, SC

My wife and I will be celebrating our tenth wedding anniversary in May. I think I've decided on Charleston, SC. For those of you who have been, what are some musts while we're there. What are some of the nicer hotels, restaurants, etc?

I was coming here to say this and you beat me to it. Dreamy place with hiking right on the property and more nearby. Plus top Notch spa and restaurants.

I've considered Charleston or Savanna, Myrtle Beach, Miami, Tampa, San Diego and Las Vegas
- Myrtle Beach, we go there every now and then, almost always in the off season cause it is cheaper and less crowded. There are some very nice places to stay and a lot to do but it is not what I think of for a 10 year anniversary. And some describe MB as trashy; depends on where you are.
-Miami and Tampa, have not been to Miami and only driven through Tampa.
- San Diego, I like SD a lot and there is a lot to do.
- LV, been once this past summer. Too hot when we went but a lot to do especially if there is a show you would like to see. My wife did not care for LV, FWIW. She would probably describe LV as trashy.
Of those places Charleston or San Diego would be my pick.
You might consider Naples, Florida or Key West. We traveled there last month on a road trip. I liked both places. I think either one would make for a great 10 year anniversary destination. Hilton Head is another good place and you could drive to Savannah for a day if you had time. Same with Kiawah Island and a day trip to Charleston.
What's your definition of "adventure in the day"?

Monterrey, Carmel-by-the-sea.... you'll thank me later.
Lots to do in that area.

so so much more....but yes, this is somewhere you'd want to go for your 10 year for sure

Key West is a good choice but be ready for $500/night hotel rooms. Even in Marathon rooms are $$

We stayed at a really nice AirBnB in Islamorada Florida last fall and it’s only an hour and a half to Key West. We were planning on staying in Key West but as mentioned 500 a night was a little more than we wanted to go with.

Nothing too crazy. I like to just explore the city and see how different it is from home. Hit up some nice restaurants, take in the culture, etc

For only a long weekend, I’d say Charleston over the others. Stay downtown and enjoy. St Augustine Fl is a nice option too.

Ft Lauderdale is setup nice for walking to bars and restaurants. Get a room overlooking the river on Las Olas Blvd. There are bars along the river, water taxis/tours and the beach isn't far. Also bars along the beach road. Million dollar boats and Lambos all over the place.

You want to go to San Franciso/Bay Area. Spend at least one day/night in the City (its safe and awesome despite what you might hear on the OT) and the rest of the time in Napa.

It’s going to be stupidly expensive but just spend the money.
Aubergine Hotel or Tickle Pink Inn. Both are north of $500/night
She’ll love walking and eating around town, rent a drop top & drive the PCH south for a bit down to Big Sur.
Monterrey is OK to see as well.

First of all congratulations on this major milestone coming up!
Some in the thread mentioned CA and wine country. I worked in the Bay area quite a bit years ago and loved it. Yeah, I get some of the current issues there, but you can't extrapolate the whole State on that.
Some thoughts on where to stay:
Drive down to Pacific Grove.
Where to stay:

Many other options for accommodations in these beautiful towns. Some wineries in the region too.
Drive along the Big Sur Coastline!

Hall's Steakhouse in Charleston was the best experience I have ever had a restaurant. I was there for my honeymoon and it was awesome. It is pricey, but made you feel like you were the most important person there.
Magnolias was really good too.
Fig was highly recommended, but I thought the menu was too trendy/limited.
O-bar was disappointing in my opinion.
Meeting at Market was a cool place to drink beer and watch a game.
Callie's Hot Little Biscuit in the market had some amazing breakfast sandwiches for breakfast.
Amen Street Fish & Raw Bar - pretty reasonable price and good food. She crab soup was amazing.
