Seems it would be foolish to say we don't have them, even if we don't. And it seems to foolish to say we don't have them, if we do. Why tell our enemies about the weapons we really have in our arsenal? I just find it hard to believe that China and Russia are ahead of us in this technology. For example, how long was the F-117 a capable weapons system before the general public and our adversaries knew about it?

Probably so. They're no telling what the US has in it's arsenal. I could be wrong, but I believe the F-22 was made back in the 80s. Most of those ufo sightings are more than likely ours, as well

The B2 bomber was commissioned in 82 I believe. So that was 60s and 70s tech if not earlier. Countries are still afraid of it because they don't know for a fact if their radar systems can defeat its LO technology.

According to open source information we have them in testing. The army is supposed to get their first hypersonic cruise missiles in 2023 and the navy gets their missiles in 2024. The USAF has tested hypersonic cruise missiles but neither publicly admits to or denies having them in their arsenal.

From what I read we do not have operational, weaponized hypersonic missiles. I hope what I read is wrong. We need to have a hypersonic Manhattan Project equivalent effort going on now.

The US is less interested in developing practical usefulness weapons for a major conflict and more concerned with overpriced ones that are useful against little countries we like to bully around. Also what would be harm in announcing we have hypersonic missiles as they can’t really be stoped anyways.

There is a lot of stuff we have that is not necessarily publicized . The Stealth for example had been flying for 10 years before we advertised it.

Neither Russia nor China’s “hypersonic” missiles will even work. The fuel is so unstable at the speed, realistic, we are atleast another 20 years out until any country has a reliable functioning missile.

Had them publicly since the 60s.

Pretty sure you are referring to the glide vehicle. Which we are testing along with Russia and China, I doubt any are operational.

Well, I really wasn't referring to the glide vehicle. I should have been more clear in my question. I was referring to the type of hypersonic that Russia claims it launched against the underground Ukraine weapons and ammo storage facility.
