He always had a good pull up J from around the free throw line. Obviously never a good three point shooter but seems to still be extremely athletic and plays hard. I know he sort of played ball hog ball in okc but the man did average a triple double in the 2016-17 season which is nuts. He looks like he sucks now other than trying on defense.

His game revolves around athleticism and being a dominant ball handler. He’s not as athletic and Lebron is the better ball handler.

He’d probably averaged 22/9/9 on a shitty team

I mean a shittier team

He's been a negative asset for at least 3 seasons and perhaps for 5 of the last 6 depending on your preferences.

When the #1 AD (-21)
Westbrook played 30+ minutes (-6) & had nearly double AD rebounds. Lakers fricked Pelicans Stacked

+/- is cool and all , but Westbrook has started off by shooting as awful as a starter can possibly shoot.

He may be ofer on jumpers and threes in two games but I’m not positive

He showed last night that he can still be a really good defender but in a reasonable situation would only be a spot player because he's missing the 3 from 3 and D.

It's the classic tradeoff, Sam Presti gave him $206 million guaranteed 4+ years ago so he's felt no pressure at all to change his game and has been enabled by the teams his been on. Next year he's either going to be really humbled by whatever contract offers he gets or is going to get a ticket overseas. But at least he got a shite ton of cash. Hope he saved some.

It really is a head scratcher as to how much his offense has tailed off.
Guy could flat out score on OKC...whether it be penetration or mid range shots.
Now he hits the side of the backboard?

Doesn’t get the lift on that midrange jumper anymore. Unwilling to change due to the media created triple double narrative that he chased for years to the detriment of his team.

Hope you’re not attached to your 27 and 29 picks because those are 100% getting traded, possibly a 26 swap too.

Lakers would be relatively ok with Hield and Turner instead of Westbrook.

As is they are a disaster and waiting until January is probably too late.

I hope so. It guarantees a decade of irrelevance for the lakers. The main problem is LeBron is old and not the same player anymore. Trading those picks isn’t going to change that.

I think they would buy him out before trading him. They want the money next year for Kyrie. Lebron just signed an extension he is looking at this year as a stat compiling year and then try to make a run next year. Whoever you get for Russ doesn’T make that big of a impact to give up those picks.

He's never been good. Ever. He is a terribly inefficient player. People are just finally realizing it.

Coaches aren't just letting him chuck up a million shots to score a bunch of points anymore because they know doing that is the anthesis to winning.

He's never been a good shooter even within the 3-point line. Even counting only his OKC years, which was his prime, he only shot 31% from a distance of 3 to 10 feet, 39% from 10 to 16 feet, and 38% from a distance of 16 feet to the 3-point line, and 30% from 3.

He's a horrific shooter and always has been.

This is bullshite.

He was a great player who developed bad habits and not his game. When the bitch KD left, he did get too much credit but he was still great/elite.

But bad habits + insane ego + losing athleticism doesn't age well.

He was an absolutely incredible individual player. He never developed or chose not to develop into a teammate.

He shot pretty decent the first game. Last night was awful. Lakers have next to no shooters on the team. Everyone is going to collapse AD and LeBron and force everyone else to score. LeBron and AD are still obviously good enough themselves to carry their team to some wins, but this team is worse than last year. The bench is so bad.

I cannot see the Los Angeles Lakers, with Lebron James in his last year or two, and Anthony Davis, just conceding an entire season.

They are going to make an all move, they are almost forced to.

Especially with such a strong 1-2 in the draft this year, with their pick going to us.
