Checked box score and he had 15 carries for 99yds and 8 catches for 64yds. We've seen he's a scary dude to try and contain/limit. Anyone else surprised they didn't run more of the offense through him considering young's trouble with timing/schedule?

We tried to give him to ball A'ight.
It just didn't happen as much as we wanted A'ight.
If i could give him the ball every snap i would A'ight.
You fans don't coach football. I do A'ight.
You know designing the offense is a process that takes weeks and you know we go through the week and make our preparations A'ight.
Hey Reporter, I'm Nick fricking Saban. Shut the frick up. A'ight.

He'll be a good FFB pick up next year.

Said it last week, Bama does not have that cadre of WRs that scares anyone.
Gibbs is their OFF.

Dude at one point they ran him then threw him out the backfield. Can’t go to him every play for every drive

Living in Houston and having witnessed bone head Bill O’Brien up close for years, no I was not surprised at all.

I was surprised they didn't run him more in the second half.

When he was coming out of HS I was really hoping LSU could land him because, IMO, he has a lot of similarities to Alvin Kamara in his running style. When he entered the portal I hoped LSU could get back in on him and was really disappointed when went to Alabama of all places.

Josh Williams plays his absolute heart out, but he's not a RB defenses have to really focus on. Gibbs is. Alabama's offense wasn't doing anything until they started consistently getting him the ball, both on the ground and through the air in the second half.

If I'm an Alabama fan I'm pissed he didn't get the ball more

23 touches is a lot. Especially when you have a Heisman qb.

And that's not including the times he was thrown to with no completion.

outside of a few plays we really contained him well...that might be why they didn't try to get it to him more

I was just as worried about him getting the ball in space as anything Bryce Young could do.

Josh Williams is a friggin winner! I don't know about Gibbs, he is certainly electric with the ball in his hands, but Williams is making plays all over the field all the time.

Jahmyr Gibbs had 3 long runs of 14, 34, and 14. The longest, 34yds, was a busted play on outside contain. So 62/99 yards were on 3 plays. Outside of those 3 plays he only averaged 3 YPC on the 12 remaining carries, while consistently being hit or tackled at or behind the line of scrimmage. LSU alwas absolutely smothering him.

Think about this....the more touches he get, the less the ball is in Youngs' hands. Gibbs had 4 carries for 81 yards...meaning the remaining 1 carries were for 18 yards.

I say that to say, he had quite a few carries fir 1 or 2 yards OR for no gain at all. LSU pretty much held him in check, outside of four runs and 2 of those the defender simply over-ran the play.

I kept saying I can’t believe they weren’t feeding this dude every play.

He’s Dalvin Cook 2.0

Young was playing average at best, and Gibbs looked like a damn problem; glad Bama used Gibbs as little as they did……
