Hey Greg, you see that guy up top? Name is Sargent?

We basically tied Wales with 10 people.

Maybe try playing with 11.

So does that map show Sargent never getting the ball? Did my eyes deceive me when he chested a pass to Pulisic to set up the goal?

Yeah, some dude said we played a great first half. We basically passed it from side to side through the back line for half the first half. It was a very unimpressive game.

I didn't think it was 100% legit, but ESPN posted it so in running with it because it highlights a major issue with our team.

The guy up top is invisible in our games.

If you take sargents touches into account. We scored on like 50% of his touches, with the other bouncing off the post.

InB4 Broaki tells us his hold up play led to the goal.

You will never convince me that Sargent was on the pitch Monday. I didn’t see him.

In your head still?

I've already said countless times it's ridiculous how our setup is.

Keep up.

Might as well play with a false 9 when we don’t even use our traditional 9. Get Aaronson or Reyna in the starting lineup.

This is correct.

We do need to get our forwards more involved in the build up though.

He was our second best player in the first half from what I saw but I was kind of working too

I was shocked to see Sargent in the starting lineup. I was even more surprised that there wasn’t more stink on here about it when I checked.

That graphic confirms my doubts.

Eta I was hammered and at a watch party though and thought it was a bad setup, but still shows he had as little impact as it seemed.

LINK

Video of all of our counter opportunities in the 2nd half. Sargent made some pretty dumb decisions in picking which channels to run in, but also Pulisic and Aaronson made some terrible decisions on the ball.

Pulisic was uncharacteristically cowardly with progressive passes in the attacking half. not just the final third. I think we should admit he carries the weight of the shirt. we want better for and from him

It's maddening that not a one of those balls was played to the #9. Part of that was Sargent making some runs that took him right out of the play, but on the off chance he picked the correct channel, Pulisic or whoever just refused to play it.

We're scared to go anywhere besides to the corners and it makes zero sense, especially in a 2nd half like that where Wales was stretched out and chasing a goal.
