Pussification of Maine. Blue collars do not carry defensive weapons

The murder and maiming caused by the shooter that could not hear is awful .
But Maine is known for the great outdoors, hunting/fishing remote camping etc.
So how is it a bowling ally and bar population of a hundred or more blue collar folks have not a single concealed carry weapon to put to use.

We got a real life cowboy up in here.

Why would you need to a carry a gun all the time in Maine?

May not be able to carry firearms in places that serve alcohol...

Patrons all bringing their guns to the bar seems like a really good idea

Carrying handguns on regular basis is not common in many parts of the country, even extremely red rural areas.

While in theory, this is true, in reality carrying a hand gun and the knowledge to use it properly, is the great equalizer.
A hand gun allows a 90 lb female the ability to defend herself against a 300 lb male.
Don't be a sheep.

I really want to know what warzones and ghettos you people are living in where you feel the need to be strapped at all times.
I'm 34 years old, lived in New Orleans and Dallas for much of that time, and never once have I ever been in a situation where I was like "damn, really wish I had a gun right now. That would make things better."
I don't think the government should ban you from owning a guns (though I do think there should be a lot more hoops to jump through to buy one than there currently are), but this idea that everyone should be carrying at all times is a baaaad idea and anyone that can't see that has a warped sense of reality.

Trev, looking at all these comments suggests even "men" in the south have turned into wussies.

I do t know or gaf about the Maine law, here’s an excerpt from LA C C law concerning carry inside bars, etc. §1379.3. Statewide permits for concealed handguns; application procedures; definitions
N. No concealed handgun may be carried into and no concealed handgun permit issued pursuant to this Section shall authorize or entitle a permittee to carry a concealed handgun in any of the following:
(10) Any portion of the permitted area of an establishment that has been granted a Class A-General retail permit, as defined in Part II of Chapter 1 or Part II of Chapter 2 of Title 26 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, to sell alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises.
Therefore, contact your local legislator.

I'm guessing a bullet will do the same amount of damage to either, on average, regardless.
