Looks like Kirk Cousins too, and obviously Aaron Rogers.
Strange how many Achilles injuries this year.

One that has far exceeded all expectations. Hope he gets back on the field soon.

They’ve already said it doesn’t cause problems but I think turf should be banned it just seems like with more turf there’s more lower extremity injuries

Football is a violent sport. On average, less than 12 players annually will tear an Achilles. They can blame the turf, but it’s not the root cause of the injury.

This is like when the NFL put a one helmet rule into place for 10 years because they said using an alternate helmet 3-4x a season would cause more concussions. All the while, teams were rotating multiple copies of the same helmets for practices, games, etc in a season.

Being 6 months out of achilles surgery, I can tell you it fricking hurts and is no fun. Good luck to those guys and their rehab.

That’s a shame for it to end like that.

A lot of people don't know that Rueben Mayes invented the achilles tendon tear.

Probably the end of the line for the big guy, but man what a career

But you know I won't count him out, no one expect him to even make it in the NFL much less play this long. Just proves that in life hard work and never giving up always wins.

He’s younger than this guy, Andrew.
On April 1, 2020, Whitworth signed a three-year contract with the Rams. On November 16, Whitworth was placed on injured reserve, as he was carted off the field after suffering a torn MCL and damaged PCL in a 23–16 home win over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 10. He was placed on injured reserve the next day. He was activated on January 7, 2021, before the team's playoff game.

Data says current turf is not more hazardous than real grass.

Different injury. Many times MCL tears can be minor and heal themselves. They speed them up with minor surgeries. Had it and was playing tennis and golf in no time and I was a hell of a lot older and out of shape.
