Explain how this isn't your favorite show? ..
I don't even like to fish and I would fish with Jeremy Wade.

It was a great show. Political bs hurts him getting into some places.

Sucks that shitty Max can't get the whole series on streaming, which is weird since it's a Animal Planet show.

I'm a fisherman and always found it boring and overproduced. It's clickbait, commercial, clickbait, commercial, clickbait, commercial, here's a cool exotic catfish we just caught. Could have been a 5 minute youtube video.

I just respect Wade basically ending the show because… they caught all the weird fish they could access and there wasn’t anything else to do

I agree…the build up of stories about dangerous, often man eating fish (repeated over & over) never seemed to match the payoff
Just once I wanted a leg hanging out of the fish’s mouth after he caught it.

How many man eating fish are in the rivers?

Loved this show. The scenery of different environments he would go to and the build up of catching the fish he was after was just good television. I couldn't wait to drink a few beers and watch it during the spring/summer when nothing else was on.

Yeah, it's bittersweet. I loved the show but they had been grinding up the same material for a while.
It still comes on every now and then.

I'm a fisherman and I enjoyed the show. I will say like others have the build up was kinda annoying just for like 80% of the time, the fish turned out to just be a catfish.
Not knocking Jeremy, its just TV

I remember spending a whole memorial day around 2011 watching it on a marathon.

This has always been near the top of "If you could have any job on TV, what would it be?" list. Just be Jeremy Wade and travel all over the world fishing for crazy fish. They hype up the fish way too much but man that would be a fun gig.

I enjoy it but feel you on the commercials. Soon as something exciting is happening, it's commercial time.
I'll record an episode and watch it later.

Love the show, hate this.

I like the fact he isn't a walking advertisement for the clothing line that some fishermen seem to not be able to do without. He's usually in some well worn shirt, often with holes in it, long pants and appropriate shoes for the job.
He does have top notch fishing gear in his rods, reels and tackle, but that is to be expected.
But, like other's have mentioned, the show is pretty predictable. Most of the show he's chasing that elusive fish he's after and in the last 5-10 minutes he miraculously lands what he's looking for.
Kind of reminds me of the old "Perry Mason" show when Perry gets his client off in the last 5 minutes of the show when someone decides their conscience is bothering them and they confess or by some miracle, new evidence clears his client and points the finger at someone else-----usually someone in the courtroom.
