who orders dessert at restaurants?

i honestly don't know why they even put these on the menu
maybe if its our anniversary dinner and we're eating at a steakhouse or something i might get something to split if we're not too full, but on a regular basis that's not even a thought.
we might get the kids a popsicle or scoop of ice cream occasionally but that's about it and that's usually to pacify them so we can finish eating in peace.
i guess maybe someplace like the cheesecake factory if you're not just going there for dessert only..

Not too often, but I love a good piece of cheesecake or bread pudding

Fine dining, I always order dessert. They typically have something I'm not making at home.

I like a little bite of something sweet when eating out, but it really depends on where and the offerings. We like sharing a few desserts for the table quite often, but I might covet the creme brulee if that's available. I can rarely eat an entire dessert. I can make a slice of cheesecake last 3 or 4 nights.

If it is a nice restaurant with a pastry chef then yes. But i’m not getting an Oreo shake at Applebees

I'll order it if it is good.

The wife and I will generally split one.

Last time I had dessert at a restaurant it was complimentary.
I had made reservations at Ruth's Chris Steak House in Metairie for our 20th anniversary and when we got to the restaurant, they had a few red roses in a vase at the table for my wife and they offered each of us a dessert. We settled on one and split it since we were so full from the meal.

Only if it’s a tasting type meal with however many courses like for Coolinary

My wife and I don’t drink, so we love to order dessert.

Especially this. It's not like it's no effort to whip up a Baked Alaska, Bananas Foster, Cherries Jubilee, or Crepes Suzette at home.

My wife. Also, she's not fat. But when we splurge and go out, she gets a dessert, even if she only eats 3 bites of it.

Opposite for us. Would rather another drink than a dessert.

Its been years
But I fully understand why they’re gonna keep trying to sell you a slice of cheesecake for $9 when the whole cheesecake cost them $25

One of my favorite hole in the walls has the best Key Lime Pie I have ever had. Me and my wife get a slice every time we go. Other than that I never order a dessert.

So you make fun of restaurants for offering them and then admit to ordering them. Time to log off
