Somebody told me he's not that o!d in the book and way worse of a person?
It started out kinda weak, but grew on me by the end of the season. Lithgow can do no wrong

I had some issues with the script and pacing of the first season, but it is a really well made, premium-feeling show. Excited

To be fair, Bridges was dealing w/both COVID and cancer when they were filming Season 1. So can't really be too surprised at the early choppiness.

Hell yes. Watched the first episode of season 1 again the other night to get pumped.

Spoilers I guess but the last episode it’s revealed that the Old Man is not him. It is somebody else.
I don’t particularly find him to be a good person, but I don’t think he was portrayed as such.
He’s a protagonist for sure but he’s only marginally better than an Afgani warlord.

In, but way too long between seasons

I hope the daughter gets killed off. Her voice irritates the hell out of me and her face makes me want to kick puppies.

Loved S1 but definitely need a refresher before starting S2

That's Maebe Funke from Arrested Development. She is no longer cute, but i still like her. The actress is good friends with Brad Pitt oddly enough.

In anticipation of the second season I read the book. I think the first couple of scenes of the show match the book, then it completely departs from the source material on virtually every plot point. Like the show, and liked the book, but they're very different.

the daughter
This is something I never picked up/understood entirely from the first season…
She and John Lithgow were close and they made it sound like she was especially “close” with the daughter. The son and daughter died in a wreck and Lithgow and his wife were raising the grandchild.
Was Maeybe in a throuple with them? Am I totally missing what was being implied there?

I liked the first season but that is about all I can remember about it. I need to find a refresher on it.

Watching now....
I was a little miffed by the first episode “cliff hanger” after waiting to long for the second season of the series….but I said, at least they’re releasing the first two episodes at the same time. GUH.
(Spoilers…..)
So obviously from what we’ve seen and would make sense because of Chase’s plot armor, either Harper woke up and shot Hamzad, Hamzad say Harper wake up and shot him, or it’s a “fake out” and Hamzad either intentionally misses or grazes Chase.
I kinda hope they don’t kill off one of the two that quickly and go for the contrived drama with Emily, rather than letting the f’d up situation play out for a while. But they did seem to be foreshadowing both Harper (with his call to his wife) and Hamzad’s (sitting in the cemetery) deaths.

Not just 1, but 2 cheap cliffhangers. I thought that we had moved away from those over the last few years
Preferred episode 2 to episode 1, but both were good. Angela’s actress is really really good

I rewatched recently. The scene when he decides not to run and ambushes the two Cia guys, he let's the dogs out of the car and let's them just run off. Then doesn't whistle for them to come back until after he's made sure he's near death.

I’ve got to say, I was actually happy with how the resolved the episode 1/2 cliffhanger in Episode 3. Overall I enjoyed the episode very much.
Looks like season 2 is going to be a pretty good ride. I’m excited to see where it goes.
