Just started this tonight. Vince Vaughan is a disgraced cop in the Florida Keys. Only through the first episode, but it’s not bad overall. Pretty funny.

I'm caught up, watched the newest episode last night. I was bumping the old Bad Monkey thread but it wasn't getting much activity.

It's gotten better as the season has went along imo. So many different story lines going on in this and all of them are pretty good. I'm a fan of Vince Vaugns comedy so I like his character. I won't spoil anything since you're only one episode in.

As I mentioned in the other thread, the Spanish chick is a smoke show. Holy crap her body

Looked up the black girl/witch doctor on IMDB because she is a really good actress and wanted to see what else she has been in. I guess she was in The Acolyte. Not sure if she was one of the lesbian scissoring witches everyone hated or not but she is good in this. There's a scene in episode 7 where you're like dang, this girl is a really good actress.

A few nights ago I told my wife that she is one of the prettiest dark dark skinned black girls I've ever seen (at least in this show, haven't seen her elsewhere), and my wife says "Yes, and her skin is flawless." So in last nights episode Eve is talking to the dragon queen and tells her "Girl your skin is amazing." The dragon queen says "why do white girls always say that."

Good show. A few twists and turns you don't quite see coming. Entertaining and funny. My only complaint is that it never fully captured me. I had to remind myself to go finish the season.

The first season isn’t over yet.

I'd be pretty disappointed if the season was over too. Episode 7 aired last night, there's still 3 more episodes to go.

I am enjoying it. A film adaptation of a Carl Hiaasen novel is right in my wheel house, and anything set in the Keys really. A classic Vince Vaughn role. Most of the other characters are solid. The red lights for the sea turtles, and the manatee stuff are fun for my gf and I as we live on the coast, and love sea turtles, and manatees.

****spoilers*****

I wish that Zach Braff's character hadn't been killed off so quick.

I've been really enjoying it. It's stayed pretty faithful to the book. I've only noticed a few small differences here or there.

When reading the book, I never really pictured Vince Vaughn, but he really fits the role.

ETA: I've only watched 3 episodes so far.

I meant to say the latest episodes. I mean it like its not something I'm waiting all week for. I have to go "Oh I think maybe a new bad monkey is out" and then I watch it.

I thought there was only 8 episodes but I am happy to see there are ten episodes.

Is there any chance there is a second season? I like this story telling, Vince Vaughn, and this universe.

I’m enjoying this aspect as well, especially Vaughn harassing the real estate agent after watching more of the wildlife around him get decimated.

The show is at its best when it lets VV do his thing. Scenes on the island are not nearly as fun.

I laughed pretty good when the cop told Vince Vaughn that she had never seen a house that's paint color looks like it should be called coke house

I’ve definitely loved the vast majority of the show, but I did think today’s episode kind of went off the rails. The bad cop dude who I guess was being brought in and would maybe get, Idk probation or a slap on the risk for misrepresenting a witness’s testimony goes from that to shooting Vince Vaugh’s buddy, running off, shooting another guy, and then dying.

I know they made him out to be a bad dude, but I took him to be a weasel, not some dude who would become an attempted murderer. Idk, felt impossibly too quick.

I love Hiaasen, and think this has a much better feel to it, compared to Striptease

I thought the same thing, actually thought I may have missed an episode and wasnt aware of some escalation.

Yea that's what I meant earlier when I said you definitely have to have some suspension of belief. One that had me rolling my eyes was when Yancy found Christophers phone. So he 100% knows Christopher is alive and he's the one who tried to kill him. Why does he try to then go after the couple on his own? What good does that do you? Justcall your ex partner, they'll go catch them. Instead he not only answers the phone and tells them he's after them which speeds up their process he tries to hunt them down at the airport and chase after the plane. He could have made one phone call and it be done with.
