Return of the Jedi question

Why did Princess Leia and Luke have to go get solo by themselves. Solo had become a very helpful part of the rebels alliance. Why wouldn’t all the people at the end of the movie fighting the empire go get solo from Jaba the hut in the dessert? It’s on cable. lol.

The Rebel Alliance was not in the position to take on another enemy by pissing off the Hutts. Better to send in the Jedi and his friends.

Lando had screwed solo over and gave him to Vader. Chewie is a frickin monkey, he got no pull with the alliance.

You guys ever wonder why the emperor never tried offering Luke the job as his number 2 with a more reasonable approach? Like, you got Luke there in front of you, and all he’s done to recruit him to the dark side so far is try to harm his friends and use Vader to sway him. What if he hit Luke with a generous 401K plan, full medical benefits, PTO, etc. ? Ain’t no fricking way the Rebels match 401K contributions and have prosthetic limbs coverage under their healthcare plan.

His role in the rescue was pretty forgettable. Until this race baiting I had forgotten he was involved.
Better question about Return of the Jedi and Han - did being frozen in carbonite or Leia unknowingly & maybe later knowingly using the force turn Han into such a beta compared to the first two movies?

I contend that if Return of the Jedi were made today and not a single thing story-wise would change... this board would rip it a new one.
Hell, the plot for A New Hope is very basic as hell.

back when it was released people still knew how to just watch and enjoy things without trying to pick them apart.

What i've learned about the rebel alliance, was it was very small. They didn't have a lot of resources. And for a rescue mission like Solo's, you need to go in small, try to get in and out. The hutts controlled everything. I would imagine it would be very difficult to go in there blowing shite up everywhere without getting the Empires attention.
