Sad, I’ve got memories in that place.

That whole area is getting major work done probably early next year/next summer. The road construction is going to make it easier to access BRG and that street itself where the hotels are located. This was the plan early summer of this year.

It was good in its heyday.
I used to go to the original one on Airline Highway.

The Bossier City location is still kicking. Haven’t been since they changed the menu a year or so ago, so not sure how they are doing, I heard they charge a buck or two for hush puppies now, which had some folks whining.

The original was in Oscar, LA on False River. Opened by Ralph and Kacoo Olinde.

And was absolutely outstanding! The BR location, including the first on Airline, was never as good as the original on False River.

every time we went out to eat in the 70’s it was to Ralph and Kacoos. The grownups could drink beer and eat fried fish while we happily plowed thru bowls of free hush puppies

Most of ol' timers have fond memories of Ralph & Kacoos.

Ate at the one in Bossier back in the spring...was still very good IMO. I always get the Shrimp St. Charles...stuffed shrimp with lump crabmeat on top and drizzled with hollandaise sauce.

We switch from them to Don's Seafood across the street.

Growing up 90% of family parties were either at Ralph & Kacoos, Don’s, or Panchos

There is still one on the causeway in Mobile. Ate there a couple months ago. I highly do not recommend it.

Supposedly the owner is very set in his ways, hence trying to renovate BR when it was doing horribly. He has brought into the company people over the years to help improve things, only to block every change they try to make.
(Had a friend high up in the company a few years ago)

You could probably add Giamancos to that list

Dad had a Dons credit card that he’d let me use for dates in HS. That was the rotation along with Piccadilly and Chinese Inn on Airline.

R&K the one in Spanish Fort, we ate there about a year ago, all were happy with their meals. Piccadilly bought them out at one time, that's when the dropoff hit. They still have three with the same name.
