Will be going to a conference for a couple of days at the end of February and looking for any suggestions on lunch/dinner places that ya'll recommend I should try out. Will be mostly around the convention center area during the day, but willing to hit the strip or Fremont in the evenings or even any hole in the wall place that only the locals and you fine folks may know about. Thanks in advance.

The place I return to every trip now is Izakaya Go, which basically is a Japanese tapas bar. Excellent sashimi and sushi, robata items (various things skewered and grilled), and true Japanese dishes that you won't find in Louisiana. Order the chawan mushi for instance which is a seafood egg custard dish served with uni on top.

It's not a hole in the wall but it's very casual with fantastic food, and extremely cost effective because it's off strip and a local's joint. I over order every time, eating and drinking like a king and I still get out of there for under $100 after tax/tip. This would easily be a $300-$400 meal eating on the strip.

It's a short Lyft/Uber ride from where you're staying.

I usually get there just after open because they do get busy, but what's awesome is that they're open with a full menu until 2am!

My second suggestion would be the Hofbrauhaus for a German food experience.

*LOVED* steakhouse at CIRCUS CIRCUS for dinner (recommend the lamb chops)

place was full of old school mobsters. literally i avoided eye contact with every table because i felt like they were going to kill me.

go for the atmosphere alone.

Subscribing as I will also be in Vegas Feb 26th for an awards gala. We’re staying at the Mandalay and have dinner plans for both nights, so I’m interested in some great daytime spots for breakfast, lunch, and cocktails.

If you are going to be by the Convention Center, go to Piero’s. It is an old time Las Vegas Italian restaurant that is popular with locals and celebrities and is right across the street.

If the weather is nice, go to Spago at the Bellagio and sit outside on the terrace overlooking the fountain.

Try Hells Kitchen at Caesar's Palace. The braised short rib is amazing.

Mon Ami Gabi at Paris casino just across the street from Bellagio is a great spot for lunch and a drink or two. Sit outside if possible.

The mesquite grilled steaks are wonderful. I've been two or three times, and I agree with this recommendation.

Brunch is wonderful here, and they do a very good steak as well (granted, it has been a while since I have been, but for them to remain in business this long on the strip, they must be doing something right).

This place is as good as advertised. Some of the best Thai food I have ever had.

I would also say for a cheap lunch/dinner Tacos and Beer of the strip was a nice hole in the wall place.
Noodles in the Bellagio was good.
Barry's Downtown Prime at Circa was also really good. We were not able to get a table, but I've heard that Peter Luger's at Caesars Palace was also really good.
