I think and hope so.

Massive offensive production, just need to keep our D sufficient.

Who knows. He is walking into a much worse situation, so we will have to be patient with him.

I’m overall optimistic though.

Lol why are people downvoting this. What did I say that was wrong

Thats big leap, but there are hopeful signs he can succeed. MO if he's given the freedom to build out this roster over the next 2 -3 seasons the Saints could be in position to lead the NFC-S for the future.

But for now, baby steps.

There is no way for us to know that. You could literally say every OC hired by a team is Sean Payton 2.0.

I like Moore. But the deck is definitely stacked against him for awhile.

We have a good track record of getting Eagles coaches who also coached for the Cowboys

Didn't Payton draft 5 of those guys? He wasn't met with them, he brought them in. Why can't Moore have a good draft? The issue is Moore won't have a Drew but no one knew what brees was gonna be after the surgery

Of course he can have a good draft. Can he have arguably the best draft in Saints history? You don’t have 1.2 and the odds of drafting five 10+ year nfl vets is slim to none

Payton won the division in year one and was in the conference championship. This current team in not in position to do that. It’s not a fair comp for Moore

He has 4 top 100 picks that could completely change things quick. We have to hit on at least 3

We need both depth and talent, but we have no money. Can’t rely solely on a draft. This draft is huge but it’s not a quick fix. The odds of hitting multiple picks and expecting them to be contributors day 1 are very slim

While he is walking into a piss poor situation. He should have 2-3 years with high draft picks that can easily right the ship while getting out of cap hell.

Goes to show timing really is everything. Payton is hired by a team with no talent that immediately draft a few months later:

Reggie Bush
Roman Harper
Jahri Evans
Zach Strief
Marcus Colston

And signed Drew Brees

If Kellen Moore starts his tenure with a 2006 level saints draft it will go well.

There are some similarities to the organization situation at the time Payton was hired and today for Moore if he is hired. Then, and now, the organization was in complete dysfunction and undesirable for coaches and players. Then it was because of Katrina, now it because of cap mismanagement.

Hope he has a lengthy contract to turn this franchise around. You need 3 years to get the cap right. So 5 years to build the team and start winning is my thoughts. We can win earlier but id want major progress by year 3 and by the 5th year winning and in the playoffs.

You said nothing wrong, but I’m not sure this is a “much worse” situation. Payton had to build from scratch.
