I love Stanfield but he has not been seeing it well lately. I would love to see us start both Brown and Pearson today.

LF- Pearson
CF- Curiel
RF- Brown

Stanfield would be a nice PH from the right side late in the game and defensive sub to finish the game.

No. You don’t fool with lineup when it’s working. Pearson on the bench

Brought up the same thing to a buddy since Stanfield has been in a slump, but i dont think Jay would wait until the national championship to bench him for the first time. That would be pretty fricked up. He made some good contact yesterday so i think he'll be fine

To start the game?? That’s asinine. I mean, it very well could happen later in the game, but there’s exactly 0% chance that’s the starting lineup.

For what it’s worth, I think he gets 2 hits today.

LSU hasn’t exactly been ripping the cover off the ball. Pitching has been carrying the day. Jay has shown he isn’t afraid to tinker.

Can you remind me who had one of the biggest hits against Arkansas in the first game at the CWS? He may not have hit well yesterday but the last few weeks he has been making good contact.

Stanfield has been probably the most consistent hitter in our lineup this year. He absolutely needs to be in the lineup.

LF- Pearson

We all love Pearson, but some of you have blinders on when it comes to him.

Pearson:
1-7 in the CWS this year (.142)
3-17 in the NCAA Tourney (.176)
4-26 in the past 7 weeks (.153)

Stanfield
2-13 CWS (.154)
8-35 in the NCAA Tourney (.229)
13-54 in the past 7 weeks (.241)

The defense is MUCH better with Stanfield in it. Any trade-off at the plate is negligible. While Pearson's only hit in Omaha is against a RHP, he normally doesn't hit them well. Also, Pearson's at-bats are mostly favorable matchups. In case anyone wants to throw out experience, Pearson also went 3-26 in the 2023 CWS (.115).

Jay will keep Pearson as a tool to pinch-hit late in the game if we need offense. If we have a big enough lead, I'd hope Jay would send him out there to get on the field for his final game.

Last 4 Games (Omaha):
1-4 1 RBI 2K
1-4
0-2 1K
0-3 1K

Total: 2-13 (.154 avg) 1 RBI 4K

Jay will do something unconventional
Maybe drop Curiel a little and back him up with milam
Move Dickinson back up and let Hernandez move up

Me too! It’s a great problem to have. Just fun to discuss options. I knew it would not be a popular take on here but it’s my opinion. Jay will do what is best.

I fully expect Stanfield to start and go 2-3 now haha.

I'm leaving Milam right where he is.

I wouldn't mind seeing Jake brown leading off

Stanfield will start but Jay will have a quick PH role for him if he sees he isn’t seeing the ball well. I expect Pearson, depending on the scenario, to sub for Stanfield as early as his 2nd AB and for sure by his 3rd AB

You can tell the people who just started watching. Can we just trust whatever the he’ll Jay wants to do at this point? Many people here thought we had no chance to even make the post season and he’s one win away from a Natty. We are in good hands

Be sure to pass your thoughts on to Jay since he doesn’t care.
