Probably my 4th or 5th rewatch and I always forget how great this damn show is.

I honestly can’t think of another show that declined in entertainment value so significantly each season. By season 3 it was already bad. By the time you forced yourself to watch the final season, all in hopes of everyone dying so there can’t be a reboot, it was a completely different show.
Season 1 was great. That’s it.

The show fell off a cliff and became dogshit, especially after axe left. I can’t recall a show I watched so much of to just turn off and walk away from because the writing became so bad in the final season.

I didn't even watch the last season.

quote:Bloodline would be a contender. Didn't watch the last season of that one either because I knew it was going to be absolute dogshit. Friend watched it and went on one of the most epic rants about it in recent memory. He said they should show that season in film school as an example of all the 'don'ts' of storytelling/film making.

Bloodline jumped the shark at the end of season 2 with that thing between Marco and Kevin happened. (Avoiding a spoiler alert)

Axe leaving sucked, but I still enjoyed the show.
Not sure why it gets so much hate.

Homeland has the be the strangest arc of a show ever. It went forever and each season was different. It fell off in S3 and then around 5 it came back to being better than ever when they went overseas. It had a very strong ending despite the couple of average seasons in between.

They made everyone god powered and they made a mistake with Hiro so they had to first make him a moron then make it so he can't use his power.
This show definitely fell off a cliff.

Randall Pearson essentially calling his family racist. . .Asian chick bailing on her paralyzed husband because he wasn't Asian.
It got so bad. I just bailed

All those quippy comebacks from Wags all the time over and over finally got to me. I gave up about S3.

They went off the rails and the writers let their ultra left wing beliefs become way too obvious as each season passed. I finally quit after the episode where they had a huge picture of Stacy Abrams in MPC office. That was more than I could take.

I love Paul Giamatti. And I found his acting to be way over the top and tiresome.
Then they featured the he-she and I was out.
Damien is a shadow of his Cap Winters/Brody self.
Ray Donovan was a good bit better.

I just finished watching the final two seasons of Billions for the first time, and honestly, I think the show got better after Axe left. I was basically hate-watching seasons 3 through 5. The dynamic between Axelrod and Chuck had become so over-the-top and repetitive that it felt stale.
Bringing in Mike Prince as a full-time character completely renewed my interest. I didn’t expect to enjoy it, but it worked surprisingly well. The way they brought Axelrod back in the final season, using him sparingly but effectively, was really well done. And I’ve got to say, the finale was one of the more satisfying ones I’ve seen in recent TV. It tied everything up cleanly and delivered a genuinely satisfying conclusion for the viewer.
I was never a big fan of the show from the beginning, but grew to hate it as the seasons went on. The final two seasons changed my feeling about the show completely.

House of Cards. Except the dropoff in season 2 started noticeably after the first episode.

I forgot how much I hate season 2 Chuck. And how insufferable Lara is towards the end of that same season.
